A question about Formula 1 betting

Whoever crosses the finish line first at the end of each lap.

So if someone passes the leader when they are in pits, and does not go into the pits themselves before crossing the finish line next lap, they get credited with leading that lap.

Regarding a bet about who is leading a race, if the leader comes into pit and someone else leads then how does that get counted for race leaders?
