I agree. The old Paco would not listen. Hopefully he got his wake up call or he will regret it.

Very flattering . Let's keep an eye on this one.

I am not sure how "A other than" races are written there but if this horse wins, there is a chance that it stays eligible for the "A other than" if this is considered a starter allowance. It would need to read non winners of a race other than maiden, claiming, or starter. That's how it was back in the day. Don't know about now and there.

This is how you are supposed to do this stuff if it is available JBEX. Love the placement.

looked through friday (maybe saturday) and they have one allowance that's an n2L and another that's an other than maiden, claiming or starter so she would have a spot in the latter if things go well..potentially nice claim as the alw purses there around $130k ..even 2nd a nice piece of change relative to the claim price and what they'd get if they win today's race

I'm late here but I just saw the replay. It is difficult to see everything I had hoped to see as she was well wide and kind of covered up from my angle. What I did see is the rider kind of gathering her up around the 5/16ths pole and through the stretch. Like she was not comfortable, or he wasn't or something. I just do not have enough info but I do think the rider could provide feedback to help understand the trip. She was on her left lead all through the stretch and just seemed confused, or too busy thinking instead of running? It was definitely something Batt. IMO, it was just not outrun and needs cheaper. Something was off, or just not right, and she was preoccupied with that IMO. Rider feedback would help a lot maybe? Sometimes they are not sure either. Let's see what the trainer says but I am pretty sure there is more to it than outrun. Just my opinion though and with limited info.
          Hope that helps.

Madison, I know you know this but I am getting older just like you. And I embrace stupid. LOL. We are allowed to be stupid. So many things have changed and continue to do so. We can't keep up and quite frankly, I don't want to keep up. I'm tired of having to learn how to dial a phone for the 6th time. Or buy a light bulb. Lumens! Really! I send my grandkids and they get what I need when it comes to that stuff.
You have to have a degree just to know what you are buying. I used to know, but now I have no clue. Screw it Madison, I refuse to care. I've learned the same stuff about something five times. Now it's different yet again. Fine. Be different.

You don't have to apologize to me. I'm so dumb, my kids always tell people that me using my iphone is like the Wright Brothers trying to fly a 747. LOLOL. They are right. I just laugh because I don't care. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. And find myself thankful for being allowed the time to be stupid. I , like you I'm sure, have many friends that never got the chance to do what we are doing. I feel I owe it to them to be as stupid as possible for as long as I can.

            All the best Madison !

And THAT'S how trainers are judged in my book. Not by if they had a really nice horse. I so enjoy watching a guy like Thomas Amoss work. It's a real pleasure to see competence on display.

              Thanks JBEX.

how do you think the connections of this horse feel losing her to the claim in her debut two back ? probably could've beaten msw with that effort ..interesting also it's between the best trainer and one of the other top trainers at the track ..i'll give a little slack for 2nd breaking from the rail in the mud in start 2 .. should be tough today but no secret to anyone ..I'd do a straight 194 triple which I think would return about $8 for a buck or invest 3 with a $2T 194 and $1T 149.. main thing here is the question and not the bet lol

perfect spot also being eligible off running for a tag in her debut

Check out this video of trainer D. Wayne Lukas giving his thoughts on Caldera’s maiden-breaking performance as well as a look ahead to what might be next. As you’ll hear, he did confirm that he plans to aim for a Derby points race next out. The aforementioned G2 Rebel on Feb. 22 is definitely the most logical option, so we’d expect that to be where Caldera ends up as of now.

Your Eclipse Award finalist Straight No Chaser turned in a monster work at Santa Anita this morning, blazing through five furlongs in a bullet :59.20.(1/38) We caught his next furlong in :13 flat on the gallop out.
He remains his usual very sharp self and Dan and the rest of the team are extremely pleased with everything he’s showing us. He will have four more breezes before the Feb. 22 G2 Riyadh Dirt Sprint—three in California and one in Saudi Arabia once he arrives there. He is tentatively scheduled to ship on Feb. 11, but that exact date could change once we get closer.

                                            Boy he looks good!

I'm ok with that. I know he will watch her closely moving forward and the stretch out can't hurt at this point I don't think. Certainly worth a try.
Agree with the drop in class as well. When you have a race like that, the only good you can get out of it is to take advantage of the lesser effort. The ladder goes up and down so let's see what she looks like next out and compare the two efforts while keeping an eye on those little things we talked about like the leads, focus, etc.

TB 1/26/24 R8 7F MSW #4 off at 1/2. Appears disinterested (in gate)/Green, left at gate pretty badly. Long steady drive to be 2nd.

GP 3/2/24 R2 #6 MSW 89K. Off 7/2 Absolutely LOADED field, Big City, Jefferson Street, Be You. Blocked stretch turn by Be You (How does the 2 not get taken down?) Nice recovery to be nipped for 2nd, catching Jefferson Street and Big City.

                                                            1) Why is this guy off 325?

                                                            3) Why wasn't Be You #2 disqualified GP R2 3/24?

Seems like an endless journey to understand horse racing.
Claim him Batt for 35K. Obviously need info on injured? I'll take 10% LOL.
