So cool to see this stuff. Only off the board once, going 5 1/2F and bumped and stumbled. Blood and guts horses JBEX.
And, it's old home week with little Benny Feliciano the trainer ( not little, his dad had the same name) and Chip Reed the owner. Benny galloped for me back in the day, and was really good at what he did. Very good clock in his head. So glad to see him successful as he got older. Not at all surprised.
And Chip Reid was a good friend. He worked at the old Capital Center with a high position in the 70's. He got us season tickets about 7 rows up just past the top of the key for the Bullets and any concert tickets we wanted. Bob Segar several times, the boss, Moddy Blues, Rod Stewart, man you name it. Even got us in to watch the PPV, a brand new concept back then, for the Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Roberto Duran fight. I remember I happened to have 5 horses in at Penn. Nat. that night and opted to go to the fight instead. Probably shouldn't have done that. Not real cool but I gave up a lot of things and decided I was not going to miss it. I send Linda Reantillo up to ride all 5 of them.(Other than a couple, that jock colony was a little shady when it came to shippers coming in from Md. to take their purses.) Had 2 winners and 3 seconds. Always thought afterwards , had I gone that results might have been 3 and 2 but that was just me second guessing myself for not going. Most times, I would go. Guess the youth came out in me that time. In hind sight, screw it, I'm glad I did.
Chip really took care of us. Such a good guy.
