Everyone that is participating in the horse contest will be invited to a sports contest. You must join the sports contest to put your points in the pool. Do not make a sports contest pick. Yep me too, I'm not clever enough to mess around, I just try to get a horse with a decent chance of winning, if and only if there are a couple of horses I think can win; I will go with the one I think that will have the better odds come post time

but honestly who knows, we have all seen 8-1 morning line horses that end up as "chalk" and 3-1 favorites that end up being longshots.

Today at Aqueduct, some horse named Lucky Irish or something went from 30-1 morning line to 4-1 or something like that come post time. Granted it was St Patrick's day and there were a couple of scratches that made it a very shallow pool, but how can you handicap that in advance. Your value play might turn into every ones value play, and thus become chalky. Like I said I'm far too dense to try and play that guessing game, I will just feebly attempt to pick a winning horse.

The horse went on to run like a 30-1 though

After reading your earlier posting about horses that have a shot to win and you making your picks accordingly no matter what the odds are then am I to understand that in races 9-10-11 that you can't find a horse that can win the race so you decided not to pick these races ....... just pulling your chain catfish.

If that was the case I would have left race 1 blank, I must admit that race one is just a grab bag of crappy horses, I shouldn't even bet virtual money on that race. Do we have an option just to keep the $2 w/p bet?

I'm slowly pecking away at this card, I'm an insomniac due to my job, so I know the feeling good sir.

Thank you for the kind words, only just started handicapping horses but I love it, so much to learn and so many angles and pieces of info to absorb. This subsection for the most part is very civil, and incredibly smart. I'm sure eventually the trashtalking glory hounds will find their way in, but for now I will savor this place.

Oh the lousy hook! I wasn't following that game, but that is pretty cruel, did they give away a garbage point at the end of the game?

better luck tomorrow BBR, I'm only playing a $25 handle per day of March Madness, since I stopped following college basketball half way, so I'm clueless about what I'm going to do with tomorrow's games. Any hot tips you can give me?
