    Keeneland opens on Friday
Limping toward the Breeders Cup this year. This has been the worst year betting on horses I've had since around 2000. Simply awful.

But trying a couple plays Friday at Keeneland. Both horses trained by Rusty Arnold and ridden by Javier Castellano.

Race 8: No. 7 Big Prarie. This guy ran a nice second at Saratoga last out in a stakes and should be fit in 3rd start off a freshening. 0-2 mark at Keeneland turf a concern but will try him anyways.

Race 9: No. 4 Irish Smoke looks tough in here but will be 4-5 in her first 2-turn try after 2 blowout wins at Saratoga. I have no idea why trainer Biancone didn't keep this filly racing in NY, where there is a $400,000 1-turn race on Saturday that she would win in a walk. I understand he wants 2-turn experience for Monmouth but this seems to be a strange move for a little more purse money but bigger field and more trouble spots.

No. 3 Morakami is 15-1 and finished 4th to the chalk at Saratoga after winning her debut. She didn't run badly in the stakes race and could improve on the stretchout to 2 turns with inside post. No. 12 A to the Croft gets a tough post but will include in exactas.

You're tossing Irish Smoke completely? Will pay big if she doesn't hit the board.

There was a point where I would look forward to the Keeneland meet due to the track bias which could favor inside speed on any given racing day. I enjoy winning days and was capable of manufacturing profitable days. Not so these days!
Polytrack has been able to do something g.a. could never achieve:curb my appetite for the horses. I too limb into the Breeders Cup with the painful reminder of how I once allowed horse racing to dominate my life.

Both plays ran out. We did beat the 4-5 favorite Irish Smoke, who ran dead last.

Patrick Biancone is a fool. I thought his entering filly Gorella in the Breeders Cup mile last year instead of the Filly & Mare turf was dumb, but this one was worse.
