For those of you who actually go to racetracks.
I lived in the Philadelphia area and for a few years and went to Philadelphia Park, and Garden State before it closed down. I never relalized it until I got to know a fellow I saw there quite a bit. He was always picking up tickets off the floor and checking them out and my thoughts were at the time, wow, this is what it has come to for some people.
It was not until I got to know him that I realized that many of those tickets that he was picking up and checking out were actually winning tickets people had thrown away by mistake. You would not believe the amount of winning tickets thrown away every day, especially on a weekend and even much more so on a Holiday. Even though, at smaller attended otb spots you can still find some good winning tickets that have been thrown away.
If you are looking to make some money at the track, especially on a holiday, just go there with the idea of picking up tickets and you are just about guaranteed to be a winner.
Also one of the better spots to be is near the bar areas, people throw away winners there like crazy, they just have no idea what they're doing. I really didn't look that much, as I didn't have the need some others did, but the largest I ever found as was a $10 exacta box winner at Philadelphia Park that was worth about $720. It was sitting in the middle of a neatly stacked pile of about 20 other losing tickets on a counter behind one of the bar areas. The person who bet the tickets, bet alot of different losing combinations, but apparently bet this one slightly different combo, but forgot he made the bet.
The fellow who got me on to this was dedicated to picking up tickets and would unbelievably on almost regulur basis find some gigantic numbers. I have been with him when he would find $1000 and $2000 tickets. I remember one time at at lightly attended otb night at Philadelphia Park he found a $700 ticket and a $2000 ticket. It was really unbelievable. The thing was, this fellow was also a big number puncher himself. No matter what he found, there was a good chance, by the end of the day or night, most of it, if not all was gone. That was also unbelievable.
