Why hockey is better than football...
    Hockey...

To highlight an extreme example, in the 1999 Stanley Cup Championships, Dallas Star hockey player Brett Hull played three periods during the final game and then played three more periods of overtime all with a grade three torn meniscus — the most severe level of an MCL tear. Although probably not the most healthy decision for his knee, playing on a torn MCL is a sacrifice he was more than willing to make at the highlight of his career as the Stars brought home the Stanley Cup that year.

    Football...

As first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered an MCL injury to his left knee in Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Packers. It is a Grade II tear, meaning it will take three to four weeks to heal, the Sun-Times has learned.

Neither Cutler nor coach Lovie Smith explained after the game when the injury occurred, but Cutler headed to the locker room at halftime ahead of his teammates. He tested the stability of his knee in the opening series of the third quarter, but Smith said the team made the decision to remove him from the game.

Maybe his foot wouldn't have been in the crease if his meniscus was in tact.

Caught a bit of the criticisms towards Cutler-pretty bad when players around the league are calling you out. My theory with Cutler is not that he jammed out of the game because he was physically hurt or physically unable but rather that he was getting shut down in the biggest game of his life and started feeling the home boos, etc and mentally/self esteemwise decided he couldn't take it. As far as pain threshold he got sacked this year like six (a rough guess) times repeatedly like a rag doll and didn't jam out. I've always felt the hype, etc around him didn't near match his ability or heart and for me the conference game couldn't have been more clear. I defy anyone to tell me he wasn't about to cry like a little kid that just wasn't good enough to play with the big boys. As for football and hockey (played both although much more hockey) I like the spontaneous action in hockey and the chess match strategy of football. Cheers and Cutler's gutlessness was the reason I ate the points with GB. Cheers.

Stupid rule. Almost as retarded as the instigator.
