I use Matchbook as my primary online book. I notice that as we get closer to kickoff, a lot of extra money starts pouring in, sometimes $25,000 at a time will show up all at once. Who is offering a $25,000 bet 5 minutes before kickoff? Is this "sharp" money waiting until the last minute to place a wager? Or is this perhaps some of the larger books looking to hedge their bets when they receive one-sided action?
On a similar note, I have noticed that halftime lines on matchbook move very quickly, so I am asking the same question in regards to halftime lines? I imagine in this situation it is much more likely that "sharps" are moving the lines when they see something they perceive as a weak line.
Thanks a lot to anyone who can provide information.
I think it comes from sportsbooks, and a few big bettors maybe who want to get out of a position.
Specially at half times, when those amounts pop up the Pinny line almost always follows, which means the guys placing those offers know exactly what they are doing.
