    SMS alerts?

    hi,

    i looked over this thread:

    however, i'm looking for a reliable service to send my phone alerts during intervals (e.g., quarters, halfs, innings) that i choose. i've tried Yahoo & Sprint, but they aren't consistent. (they don't always send the alert or they send it too late.)

    does anyone have any suggestions?

    Espn

    I started with SMS alerts using CBS but wasn't satisfied. I switched to ESPN and have been using them since (almost a year now)... If you sign up for a free account, you can set up SMS alerts and chose whatever teams you always want (quarter/half/inning, etc) or any individual games you want the same way. They are always on time and their breaking news updates are pretty good too...check it out

    I wrote this above: "i've tried Yahoo & Sprint..." I meant to say i've tried Yahoo and ESPN. I tried ESPN recently and they failed to send me two alerts.

    i can try again...maybe they were having a bad day.

    oh ok. The only inconsistency I have noticed is some other friends of mine may get a breaking news update slightly earlier than I do...

    Other than that, the score updates are pretty consistent in my experience. Hopefully they will work better for you if you try em again. GL

    As of very late ESPN has missed a few for me but otherwise they have been very timely and consistent. As you said may have just had a bad day.
