Murray won't play-- Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray will not play this weekend vs. Carolina due to a foot sprain

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Kevin Kolb is expected to miss "several weeks" after he had multiple ribs detach from his sternum in Week 6.
Ouch. Kolb also suffered a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his chest area. Frankly, it was only a matter of time considering Kolb's penchant for holding the ball and a turnstile offensive line that had allowed 23 sacks the past three weeks. John Skelton will take over as the Week 7 starter in a tough matchup at Minnesota's ninth-ranked defense.

Former head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks and current Cleveland Browns team president Mike Holmgren will retire at the end of the 2012 season. Owner Jimmy Haslam has already announced that Joe Banner will take over as the team's new CEO/president. Holmgren joined Cleveland in January 2010.

Browns rookie wide reciever Josh Gordon has caught just five passes in the past two games, but he has surely made them eventful as he scored a touchdown from at least 60 yards out in each game. "He's a long guy who is a huge mismatch, especially on safeties," quarterback Brandon Weeden said of Gordon on Monday. "He can do some things there. It's a great asset for us.

It would be foolish to expect Jets running back Shonn Greene to come close to repeating his Week 6 stat line. However, considering the state of the rest of the Jets' backfield, it looks like Greene will certainly get enough chances to do so. The Jets are hoping Bilal Powell can return for Week 8 after dislocating a shoulder on Sunday.

Patriots wide receiver Brandon Lloyd landed hard on his left shoulder while diving for a pass late in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Fortunately for him and the Patriots, he suffered only a bruise, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. After missing some plays, Lloyd was able to return to the game for the final couple of snaps.

The Philadelphia Eagles have fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. The former offensive line coach has been under pressure for quite some time even though the Eagles rank favorably statistically: 12th in total defense, 15th in pass defense, 15th in run defense, 30th in sacks, and 13th in points allowed per game

Jake Locker's left shoulder still isn't at full strength, so Matt Hasselbeck will make another start for the Titans. Head coach Mike Munchak made the announcement Monday
