#738If you want to go back to worming your way out, here is the thread to explain yourself.
Sports betting and handicapping forum: discuss picks, odds, and predictions for upcoming games and results on latest bets.
DS wants to know if/when you do pay it btw ;-)

#740Well guys, it looks like ESPN has done away with our Stock Car Challenge. They released their up coming scheduled 2014 fantasy games yesterday, SCC was left off, so when you contact them, they write back informing you its not gonna be offered this year.
There are 3 other game options we can look into:
1. Yahoo- where you have driver limits( How many times they can be used per segment) and roster has to be set by 3am on Friday.
2. Foxsports- The foxsports.com game also is a pick 5, but is not a cap game, and you can not use the same driver more than 4 times per segment, it has the bonus driver / team captain when your pick of a team captain comes in for a win, and you get the double points.
3. Nascar.com- with nascar.com you have a hour before the race to make picks , no driver limits and you pick a pit crew and a car make for even more points...its a pick 5 with a 100 floating salary cap, it's points structure is very different.
I have not looked into them much yet, to really see the Pro's & Cons. Just thought i'd let you guys know where things stand as of now, and gage interest to see if we even want to continue this contest.Comment -

#745This place allows us to run our own Fantasy league, and set it up the way we want.
We can choose to have it with a salary cap like the ESPN game. With the same floating trade value system so you can increase your salary cap by buying/selling drivers at the right price. Pretty much exactly the same as ESPN I think.
It costs $55 for up to 50 players. And does not have to be paid until after the 6th race of the season.
That's equivalent to about 800 points... between 20 players about 40 points each.
Maybe make it worthwhile for the Administrator who coughs up the 55 bucks by each of us paying him 100 points to play for the year.
I had a good look at the setup options and it looks pretty easy.
Would you want to admin this (including paying the $55) CarolinaDaze?

Edit: If anyone from SBR reads this, Racescore also offer a turnkey self hosted solution... so SBR could create their own branded, self-hosted, NASCAR fantasy game cheaply and easily. http://www.racescore.com/onlineEnterprisefeatures.aspx.Comment -

#748I notice you have to set up the Salary Cap for each driver, guess that means they don't change automatically every week either. Heres Quote from site:
1. Salaries - You choose the salary for each car/driver, the salary cap the teams must maintiain and the number of cars/drivers each team can draft.Comment -

Agree it is a bit of a pain if we have to set each driver's starting salaries without any guidance.
Do you want to ring/email them or should I?.Comment -

#750Hmmm... I thought they set the salaries and varied them as we went. Maybe an algorithm changes them automatically based on results using our starting salaries.

I think it's pretty tough to do well in it by only having three trades, which is what you get for $35. You almost have to have unlimited trades, which bumps the entry fee up to $100.Comment -

#758Post 11 in the Ashes thread makes it pretty clear you were angle shooting from the start. Then by not responding to all of Opti's remarks about the exchange rate when you were clearly reading/conversing with him for that hour almost within the minute of a post further demonstrates that you were going to claim ignorance if you lost.Comment -

#765ok, my wheels have been spinnin' for a few minutes so here's my concept for our very own in-house SBR Nascar Forum Fantasy Racing League:
week 1 - the crapshoot known as Daytona, just pick any 5 drivers for your roster, and tie-breaker of # of cars finishing on the lead lap. 2nd tie-breaker is earliest entry.
week 2 and the rest of the season -- each driver has a salary based on their season points rank, so the driver that wins daytona will also be the points leader for the season and would have a salary of 1, 2nd at daytona has a salary of 2, etc. after each race the drivers salary will change based on their season points to date. With this method we don't have to make up our own salary's like the idea from above. And, each roster has to have a MINIMUM salary of 60 pts so we can't just load up with the top drivers every week.
You can only use drivers in the top 43 for the season on your roster, that way we can't load up with ringers on road courses (unless thay happen to be in the top 43 for the season).
the weekly thread will start with the season points ranking so there is no confusion on any drivers salary for the week.
I'm sure theres more details to add but my brains tired now. just a thought for our own if we can't find a good 3rd-party site.Comment -

#766Not a bad idea rickie, might be quite a lot of book keeping thought to keep up with everybody's stats. Maybe we could borrow the stats and driver points from another site like yahoo or where ever and just apply it here like you said and run it ourselves? So pissed at espn for not renewing this contest.Comment -

#768I'm sure ill okay in any u guys decide.
Not it a bad idea there rickie, depending on how easy be for CD to grade and keep track of every week. I'm not even gonna look at yahoo, ect sites ill just probably play no matter what u guys decide to do. Cause none will be near as good as the espn we always have played so.
Only about 3 weeks til speed weeks are starting up boys!!!!!!
