Anytime he's gone against top teams he's looked very average to me. Why would any team try to suck for Luck???

What struck me more about this game than anything else was the obvious lack of preparation by Stanford for the Ducks attack, and the huge mismatch in speed. Luck had an OK game, but his defense got gashed all night long.
Considering this was the only game that really stood in Stanford's way, the lack of preparation and lack of gameplan was appalling. Which is the failing of the coaching staff moreso than Luck.

I was thinking the same. Stanford's coach is obviously overmatched in a game like this. He should have lost the USC game.
Peyton Manning had terrible games against good teams in college as well, so I can't hold this against Luck.

Look who he's playing with though, no skill position talent on that team. No clue why he came back

Long term, it was a good move for him. Another year of game experience starting on a competitive team at the college level is far more valuable with respect to developing his skills than getting thrown into the mix in the NFL to an unknown team that will almost definitely have positional issues as well, assuming that he'll most likely be taken by a terrible team with the #1 pick. The Cam Newton / Andy Dalton instant success stories are the exception for rookie QBs in the NFL.
