#8This is Ohio state's super bowl. All of a sudden, their 10-7 loss to Michigan State doesn't look so bad. Tomorrow, OSU waxes Wisky pretty bad..and motors through their cupcake schedule right to the Big 10 title game.
Take OsU plus 220.Comment -

#9Teams that had legitimate national title hopes are usually bad bets the week immediately following their first loss. I would avoid (or even fade) Wisky and Oklahoma this weekComment -

That angle is VERY unpredictable, especially when Wisconsin can still play for Big 10 title and a BCS bowl game potentially. I like the leadership on Wisconsin. I doubt they have been hanging their heads all week and doubt they come out flat tomorrow. We shall see.Comment -

you mean like when OSU lost to Wisconsin last year and then came back to beat Purdue 49-0?
Or when Wisconsin lost to MSU last year and then went on to pound Minnesota 41-23?
Or how about when Bama lost last year and the next week beat Miss st 23-10?
Maybe it was when oklahoma St lost last year to nebraska and came back and beat KSU by 10.....
Or it could have been when Oklahoma lost last year to Missou, and then pounded colorado by 33 the next week...
Could have been when Stanford lost by 20 to Oregon, and then came back and upset USC last year....
Or maybe when Michigan St lost to Iowa last year and then beat Minnesota by 23....
the only other one I can think of to support your argument would be when LSU lost to Auburn last year and then upset Alabama.....
Thank you for giving us great insight on top teams coming off losses and how they do so poorly.....

#16Of all the teams you mentioned, I think the only ones that were considered legitimate threats to win the NCG at the time of their first loss were Ohio State (and you are right, they covered the next week), Alabama (did NOT cover vs. Miss State) and Oklahoma (not sure off hand if 33 covered vs. Colorado). I would add Virgina Tech losing to Boise even though it was opening week, because if they win that game, just about everyone expected them to go undefeated rest of regular season. Instead, they lost outright to JAMES MADISON following week before going 11-0 rest of way The other teams you mentioned, while all good, had too many better teams ahead of them to have realistic chances.Originally posted by Vin_vermillionyou mean like when OSU lost to Wisconsin last year and then came back to beat Purdue 49-0?
