#2K State is a good team but they've gotten very unlucky in having to play OU next week. The Sooners are going that come out swinging for sure. A fire has been lit.Comment -

#4Many times you will hear announcers mention this scheme, but they never explain it so the fans can understand the purpose of the quarters zone matchup scheme.
In this scheme, the outside linebackers are run stoppers first unless they are covering an inside receiver, who is lined up in a wide position. Oklahoma will be spreading the field. Linebackers ordinarily have gap responsibilities against the run. All defensive players have critical pursuit angles. If a run develops to the strong side of the field, the linebackers must pursue an angle of attack that gets them to ball efficiently. The corners will take a more conservative angle across the field. The corner on the weak side of the play must make certain he gets into the position to secure the cutback lane. Once he gets into position, the safety can take an angle direct to the ball carrier.
The defensive front have individual assignments to identify pass rush lanes, containment for misdirection and reverse plays. All of this just for running plays.
The key for Landry is to identify if Kansas State is in a two deep cover zone or a single safety quarters scheme immediately after the snap. The safety will be responsible for containment of the sweep and pitch plays. The biggest play may be to use Landry in a delayed rollout and force the safety to commit to the run. Landry will know immediately that he has man coverage down the middle of the field and will likely have a receiver being covered by a much slowed linebacker. This is just one of dozens of plays that Oklahoma can use to exploit and confuse the Jayhawks defense.Comment -

I agree. I lean OU, because Stoops has an awesome ATS record when coming off of a loss. I see this game playing out much like the Nebraska game from last year. K-State got smoked at home in that one. I may be making the Sooners a play this week. I am still crunching the numbers though.Comment -

#23Oklahoma's red zone offense reminds me a lot of the Browns red zone offense (other than the obvious difference that they get into the red zone about four times as often). BOL with your play.Comment -

#24Here are some betting strategies combining my 5* graded plays on Oklahoma and Nebraska. I also like the 'under' in both games, but only have a 5*' UNDER' in the Nebraska game. Although very difficult to hit and win, making a small wager on all four in a four-team parlay is worth a look. For those of you, who like teasers, you can combine Nebraska and the 'under' and Oklahoma and 'under'; tease both Nebraska and Oklahoma, and tease both 'unders'. Realize though that with every additional teaser we are adding more risk to the 5* graded plays. So, be disciplined and don't get too myopic with these games. I have another dose of NFL plays being released at Noon ET today and I am hitting 65% ATS. See you there.Comment
