What Stats & Research do you value most???
    Hi All,

I am pretty new to NCAA football handicapping but I'm looking to learn as much as possible & build a bank roll. I know that this will definitely take some time but, I am curious if anyone is willing to share what statistics & research they use to base decisions on. What should I be looking at???

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

I have made zillions tailing Landers, literally zillions.

First of all the best thing you can do is watch the games and actually know a handful of teams. Stats only come in later or when you don't really know the teams that well. If you can watch a game and see the strengths and weaknesses of each team then you should be fine. Also knowing the strength of the team they're playing is helpful because if you watch Tennessee murder a D-2 team, don't think their offense is amazing until they play a high caliber defense. Another tip: Don't be optimistic.

Yards per rush attempt is an important stat. You always want to make sure you take into consideration outlier type of runs. If a team rushes 20 times in a game and 19 of those rush attempts average 2 yards and one rush goes for 50+yards that is something to make sure you take into consideration.

Stats in the first few weeks are of limited value, IMO. Roster continuity is much more important, especially offensive and defensive lines. How many returning starters?
