    Pac-12 Sunday Games?
With all the uncertainty swirling around the NFL labor situation, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott says that moving some conference games to Sunday is a possibility. "We certainly are monitoring the situation," said Scott. "We have no plan in place at this time, but you want to be prepared and consider all options."

    College football on Sunday...why not?

This really depends on the NFL situation, and in part, the scheduling. While it may be difficult to schedule non-con games for a Sunday, it would not be very difficult to switch a conference game to a Sunday. The way the schedule works out, it would be very easy to switch a Pac 12 Saturday game to Sunday every week of the season. Example: You can move the Fresno State-Cal game, scheduled for Sept 3rd, to the 4th. There is not a lot of travel involved in that game. It is that way every week. It wouod give the PAC 12 national exposure, and Fox would be very happy having football to televise on Sundays. This move simply makes a lot of sense. The SEC may want to consider this also, to give CBS a game to televise on Sunday. The "early" game would feature an SEC team or teams, and the "late" game a Pac 12 team, or teams.

BD, if the NFL did fold the season, I hope the Pac-12 moves forward on this Sunday game stuff.

You better believe if the SEC sees a dime in Sunday games, they would follow. The SEC is all about money and they know how to get it better than most.

For my money, we could just cancel the NFL and have CFB all weekend. The NFL is a broken league with the whack-jobs running it today. The changing rules are starting to make it the laughing stock of all sports.

Sparky, if the MONEY is there, any small problems could and would be worked out.

Look at Southern Cal, Los Angeles has no pro football team anyway...add to that UCLA sucks.

Put USC on TV Sunday against a conference rival and the ratings would be huge. (= $$$$$$)

NBA is going to fold, not the NFL.

Whats going on in the NFL is all posturing. Everyone is making money, but greed is getting in the way of the continuation of the sport.

In the NBA almost all the small market teams are losing money or breaking even. Players are getting paid to much, and GM's dont know how to manage a salary cap without going over the luxury tax. If the NBA didnt bounce a ball next season I wouldnt be surprised. Many of the NBA owners were also owners of NHL teams during their lockout. They know that a lockout is the best thing for their sport. They would make, and not lose money during that period. Also they would back the NBA players into a corner, thus forcing the players to become desperate for money.

Sparky. the logistics would easily work, especially with the games involving the Pac 12 South teams. However, as Houli pointed out, this will all probably be for naught because the NFL will most likely settle (in other words, the players will cave in) sometime in late July or August. The players may win on the 18 regular season game issue, but will lose on every other point.

No they wouldnt. The NFL wouldnt come out just say we wont be having a season, so the TVs wont agree to moving games till the week of the game. If you do that, you are gonna piss off season ticket holders whose donations fund a lot of each schools entire athletic department.

The NFL will have to have some type of pre-season for the regulars to get into shape. Not necessairily games, but workouts. Figure two weeks for that. Unless the NFL decided to use replacement players, they would need at least two weeks notice to get up and running again. That is plenty of time. Remember, we are talking moving games like Fresno State at Cal, not USC at Notre Dame.
