I'm just starting up this thread now to try my hand at capping. I try to work more for high percentage winning, rather than throwing down large amounts on each bet. That being said, most of my bets will be for 1/2 units.
So here's my start to this weeks bets...
Cincinnati -3 (1/2 unit)
Both of these teams are coming off impressive victories, but the key to look at in this game is the level of opponents each has faced. The bearcats barely lost to oklahoma 31-29, and held a tough NC State team, which is 13 in overall scoring at 37.5 ppg, to 30 points. Louisville does have a statistically better defense, allwoing 0.8 ppg less than the bearcats, but this is due to their lower level of competition. Their toughest games came against an Oregon St team that had just played TCU and was looking ahead to their next matchup with Boise St, and a Kentucky team which has lost every game against a decent opponent, and even lost to an Ole Miss team which lost to Jacksonville St and Vanderbilt. Collaros, Pead and company should get the bearcats going early enough to hold off Louisville in what looks to be a very tight game.
