Do Books Take Down Totals 4 Bad Weather
    Hi Guys,
First post. Interested in Rain, Snow and Wind.
Does your sportsbook take down Totals line (just) before game time when the weather
is bad ? If so how long before?

...and why does the Totals line only drop a couple points for bad weather when it
seems obvious that the passing game will suffer.

Is it because the "books" are already balanced and weather bettors are an insignificant
    market share ?

dont think my books do, ive never noticed it tho.

but true books are normally smart and account for these types of things... but sometimes not, so hammer a play if you think you have a winner!

I have never noticed that before. Remember, rain can actually help an offense if the rain is light because a slippery field is a huge advantage for the WR's over the DB's. Wind is the real line killer.

The Greek and Betjam don't cancel lines during weather but they are really good at adjusting the over/under. You have to be very careful using this as a strategy as even the weatherman can't predict Mother Nature. I've had friends sitting at a game where it was a torrential downpour and I hammered the under only to have the sun come out after halftime to get buried.

I agree that wind can really affect passing teams but usually only when they are throwing into it. Good to get on a quarter line when knowing this but once again it can be risky. I think the greatest effect is the field condition. I've seen some fields hold up real well in a monsoon then other fields look like a war/battle field after a HS game the day before. Any field that looks like slop is a good one to bet under but look for lower tiered games that are under the radar versus a big game with top schools. Forget about it in the NFL.
