    The New Big 12?
It could easily happen. Right now, two teams are certainly in the midst of serious consideration by the Big 10 and Pac 10. The Big 10 may amke a move on Missouri, and the Pac 10 will probably make a move on Colorado.

If both teams leave the Big 12 conference (and there is plenty of reason to believe that they would), then the Big 12 takes TCU and Houston. Your new line up looks like this:

    North:

Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State.

    South:

Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, TCU.

To be perfectly frank, I like this line up better than the existing line up. It revives the OU-Nebraska Rivalry and gives the North some decent teams. It puts all 6 major Texas schools in the same divisionof the same conference. It certainly makes a lot of sense from a travel point of view.

I really hope that this comes to fruition. Perhaps the three conferences involved can look at this and see all the positives that will come from it. Then they can talk to their brothers from the ACC and SEC to either force the Big East to expand to 12 teams or dump them out of the BCS.

I would love to get TCU in instead of Mizzou.

Colorado - heard alot of talk going on,serious and soon about expanding-even getting their own network. This is the first that I have heard about Colorado- thanks for the information. Pac-10 might get some snow during league football games.

The Pac 10 is looking at Colorado for the big Denver T.V. market.

Colorado is one helluva travels situation for most of the Pac 10 I just dont see it happening. Colorado doesnt have a lot of the athletic programs that the Pac 10 schools do too (wrestling, gymnastics, softball etc...) I just wont believe it till I see it as far as any teams leaving the Big 12. Doesnt mean it wont happen I just find it hard to believe at this point

It makes sense. The only big rivalry games Colorado & Missouri lose will be Nebraska & Kansas respectively and they could schedule those games OOC each season. TCU is pretty much a lock. I'd expect them to take another old SWC school along with TCU.

I could not care any less about travel, but having TCU in the conference would make sense to me.

And the north division would be renamed "Big 8 minus 2", while the south one will be called "Southwest".

don't count on nebr/colo and Mo/kans non conf games... such teams prefer easier opponents ... I'm thinking of the long term Pitt/Penn St rivalry that ended when they joined conferences .. It was the game of the year for both team for many years before that.

I think this is just speculation. The only two teams that have a chance to leave would be Mizzou and Colorado. Texas is def not leving the BIG 12

I can not see superconferences emerging. The teams still would play 8 to 9 pf their 15 opponents, and the superconferences would be broken down in divisions, meaning that it could be 5 years in between games for some of these rivals. That makes no sense at all.
