Florida and Alabama don't face each other during the season, and can only face each other in the title game. Everyone else faces Florida and/or Alabama at least once during the season. If you were to replace Alabama or Florida with TCU they would likely go X-2. Alabama would likely go X-1, but they happened to go undefeated.

In any event the Fiesta bowl was planning on taking Iowa, but was besieged by the Big 10 to allow Iowa to go to the Orange Bowl. This created a vacuum and allowed for the classic matchup of David vs. David, and Goliath got to take the easy way out.

Iowa would be an underdog against TCU, and about pick'em vs. Boise St.
My point exactly, the little big schools would have at least two losses and not even mentioned in the BCS picture

That was TCU's game of the year, Clemson was not up for them, caught flatfooted.

Maybe TCU IS better than Clemson, but that is not the point:

If TCU played in a BCS conference, ALL the teams are "up" and, again, in the SEC TCU would lose a game or two to teams like Ole Miss, Tenn, Ark, Ky, Georgia during the grind, and also lose to powerhouses like Ala, Fla and LSU.

          That is the difference.

TCU can prepare for 2, maybe 3 games a yr like Clemson and BYU, but SEC teams are threatened every week. Same goes to a lesser extent for the other major conferences.

My big gripe is that they are playing each other.
Its all part of thier growing pains. They have no history, or tradition......Boise is 1-4 in thier last 5 bowl games.

What I don't understand, is that the BCS knows the fans want to see TCU against something different. Boise State does nothing for the fan.

First of all, your arguments will fall on deaf ears. You guys have absolutely no say in this, so stop your crying. The bottom line is this. You have 5 undefeated teams this year, and 1 one loss team. 4 of the undefeateds are playing each other and the 5th is playing the one loss team. The other two BCS Bowl games feature two loss teams. You simply can not get it any better numbers wise. Would you rather see TCU play Georgia Tech? Boise play Iowa? I think that considering the fact that we are stuck with the system that we have for another 4-5 years, this is as good as they could have done. I suggest you guys start doing your homework for the bowl season now, because from what I have read, some of you are going to start the New Year off broke. Spend more time figuring out who you are going to wager on and less time crying about something that is totally out of your control.

Bottom line...no team wanted to play TCU or Boise anyway because they are capable (not assured by any means, but capable) of beating ANYONE. The SEC teet sucking BCS made sure not to give these legitimate contenders a chance to delegitimze their bullshit cash cow system because it has happened every year these "inferior" teams from non-BCS conferences have been given a chance.

"Here, go have your bowl, we won't let you play with the 'real teams' (because we know you may very well beat them and make us look silly)."

It is also a fact that none of the "power" schools will schedule TCU or Boise in non-conference regular season games either which would give them the ridiculously overrated strength of schedule rating that the ignorant SEC teet suckers relish throwing in their faces when in reality the only teams that could beat them from the SEC are Bama and Florida anyway. It's true that schedules are done years in advance, but these teams have been legitimate for years. Kudos to Oregon for doing so...or they would be higher in BCS themselves.

I thought Obama was on this?
