We all agree Weis is goine at ND, then who?

I can't believe Colorado hasn't fired Hawkins yet, but that should be getting close.

Al Groh at Virginia wouls be next in my opinion.

    Then Steve Kragthorpe at Louisville.

Not many big time jobs going to be open this year.

I doubt Michigan would make a move this year, but they may think about it---and why not go after their own alumnus, Harbaugh?

Add UNLV's HC Mike Sanford. Dude's practically being exiled out of Las Vegas. UNLV's football program is a joke, and will continue to be.

whoever is at Texas A&M is on borrowed time.

Don't think anyone in the SEC is a goner...maybe Spurrier if ends it with a clunk.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Mark Richt out at Georgia.

Harbaugh burned the bridge between his alma mater for truth telling. There is no way he would leave a promising job in a desirable location for this.

As for coaching firings, here is my shortlist...

ACC: Al Groh (Virginia) is gone at the end of the year. There is a chance that Ralph Friedgen (Maryland) will not be back after a 2-10 season, but it's tough to fire him because he built that program at the start of the century.

Big 12: The first name that pops up is Dan Hawkins (Colorado) but many closely following the situation expect him to return next year due largely do to his contract. Mark Mangino (Kansas) is not going to survive these allegations.

Big East: Louisville fans have lost patience in Steve Kragthorpe. Unless he wins out, very few expect him to return.

Big Ten: Ron Zook (Illinois) is the only one in any real danger, but all indications are leaning toward a return.

Pac-10: I don't see any changes in this conference. Paul Wulff (Washington State) will get at least one more season to show signs of life at one of the most difficult jobs in the country.

SEC: I don't see any changes in this conference.

Mountain West: The only coach who was in any hot water has already been fired (Mike Sanford - UNLV). Everyone else is either still early in their tenures, or has won consistently.

WAC: Dick Tomey (San Jose State) is "retiring". Everyone else is safe.

Conference USA: Tommy West (Memphis) has already been let go, and the potential is there for several other coaches to depart, such as Mike Price (UTEP; although it looks like he will get one more year), Bob Toledo (Tulane), and Mark Snyder (Marshall) if they don't finish strong.

MAC: Besides J.D. Brookhart (Akron), there shouldn't be any firings.

Sun Belt: By far the most active conference. David Elson (Western Kentucky) has already been let go, and several other jobs (UL Lafayette, Arkansas State, North Texas, Florida International) have coaches who are not sitting comfortably entering the off-season after failing to win consistently. That's what happens when UL Monroe is bowl eligible.

I do not know about Weis. Can the Irish afford to shell out that kind of money? The timing makes sense, with Clausen almost a lock to turn pro after this season, and the starting offensive line all scheduled to graduate.

Firedgen gave signs at the beginning of the season that this may be his last. Maryland has not lost less than 4 games in the past 6 season, and has had only two winning season in that time. This will be his worst season ever.

I do not know how Al Groh has survived this long at Virginia. He has accomplished little of late, having had three losing seasons out of the past 4. His underachievements are glaring.

Dan Hawkins of Colorado should be out, unless the University decides to allow him to coach in the final year of his contract, thus avoiding having to pay him off.

Mark Mangino is the George Patton of College Football Coaches. He just can't keep his big mouth shut. This time it is probably going to cost him his job. HIs team will probably go from 5-0 to 5-7. He says he has not lost the team, but the record indicates something else.

Steve Kragthorpe seems to be in hot water, but his team has won 4 games and few people expected more. Still, the alum and administration are losing patients with him.

It's a shame that no diehard WVU fan will admit that publically because that would be giving credit to the man who shunned his alma mater for a better job.

But no, it was all Pat White.

Money will not be an issue. If precedent means anything, Fr. Jenkins will get 1 or 2 big time trustees to fund the buyout. This money doesn't come from the endowment, but even if it did, ND weathered the financial crisis better than almost every other school for various reasons.

ND is going to hit a home run because they actually have an AD who has a brain for the first time in a long time.

Swarbrick is light years ahead of a nitwit like Kevin White---who I swear was trying to destroy ND football.

Kevin White and Mike Wadsworth did more damage to ND than Charlie Weis, Ty Willingham and Bob Davie combined.

Not that anyone here cares... But the public here in Minnesota just paid for a new stadium, and we'd love to have a coach that could make us competitive to go along with it. Tim Brewster is a fvcking retard.
