Well I havent been doing that good in basketball, but continue to do great in football. Both The Syracuse and Under play I posted won last week and I think this is another play just as good as that one.
Air Force + 10 against BYU makes no sense at all. There is no way that BYU deserves to be a 10 point favorite here and if they arent careful they could very well lose this game.
Air Force comes in with one of the best defenses in the nation. They give up 13.3 points per game, have forced 25 turnovers this year in 11 games. This defense has not given up more than 23 points to any team this entire year and even that took OT as Utah only managed 16 in regulation.
Air Force has faced a lot of high powered offenses this year, and has shut them all down. TCU, who scores big on everyone only managed to get 20 against Air Force in a 20-17 victory. The same TCU team Beat BYU 38-7. Air Force also held Utah to 16 in regulation, thats a uTAH team that is no stanger to putting up 35 or more points a game.
Air Force ranks 4th in the nation in rushing offense. They have 2 great running backs in Jared Tew and Clark. Also QB Jefferson can run the ball for big yards as well. Defenses have to respect his running ability which makes it very hard to defend this team.
BYU on the other hand is still living off its 1 point win over Oklahoma at the start of the season. This BYU team has not beaten another good team all year long. Since that win, they have beaten Tulane, Colorado State, Utah State, UNLV, Sd State ( by 10), Wyoming, and New Mexico by 5. I wouldnt call any one of those wins impressive at all.
I dont understand how BYU comes into this game as a 10 point favorite coming off a 5 point win over lowly New Mexico and with Air Force on a 3 game winning streak where they are killing their opponents. There is just no way that this line makes any sense and I believe that Air Force stands a great chance to win this game straight up.
Air Force has only lost 4 games all year long. They lost at Minnesota, they lost at Navy, they lost at Utah in OT, and they lost by 3 to TCU. These are all respectable losses, but even more important is that all these losses are by 7 points or less.
Air Force comes into this game as a 10 point dog when they have played far better teams and havent lost to anyone all year long by more than 7 points. That doesnt make a lot of sense. The fact is that BYU is ranked and at home so therefore they have to be a big favorite.
This is a great spot to take advantage of another silly line. BYU doesnt deserve to be ranked. They beat Oklahoma by 1 early on and havent done anything sense. All they have done is beat up some cupcakes, and actually survive a couple close calls against cupcakes. Air Force is no cupcake and will give BYU all it can handle and then some on Saturday.
