HARRY'S WEEK #4 PICKS (13-8 on the season)
Definitely gave back some of the "house's money" with my less than stellar selections last week. Watching BYU get trounced was painful. It felt like somebody took a sock full of lugnuts and whooped me upside the head. Fortunately I swept the board (4-0) with my college total plays (bringing the season tally to 10-2) to help stem the bleeding.
Ah well, still well ahead for the season. Will have the rest of this week's plays on Friday, but until then my first play will be....

NEVADA +7 against MISSOURI (Friday night)

The Wolfpack have been putrid this season. Last week against Colorado State they finally got their offense in high gear, moving the ball with ease. 5 turnovers didn't help their cause any too much and they fell to 0-2. This week, they play their home opener and they get to do it on national TV. I look for Nevada to outrush and outpass the Tigers of Missouri, and to win this game outright. Personally I will play a half unit getting the points and another half unit on the money line. Go 'Pack!

This has all the look of a "Homer" bet. Last year the Missouri TIGERS beat Nevada 69-17. This year Nevada will play better and will start running the ball like Nevada again, but it won’t be enough to keep up with the monster game from Mizzou's Gabbert. He’ll throw for well over 300 yards and four scores.

The remainder of the Week #4 plays are as follows....

      MICHIGAN -20 against INDIANA

Not gonna hop off this Wolverine bandwagon just yet. Get the distinct feeling that Coach Rodriguez and his crew are enjoying the new infusion of speed and talent on the team. It sure helps get rid of the foul taste of last year's humiliating campaign. Throw in the fact that Michigan is 30-1 against the Hoosiers over the past 4 decades. Oh yeah, and today is homecoming. Michigan is going to dominate in every facet of the game and win by about 4 TDs.

      ARKANSAS +17- at ALABAMA

Anyone who watched Arkansas get hogtied last week against Georgia knows that this is one sorry defense. But the other side of the coin is that Petrino's boys can score. This is a lot of candy to be giving in a pivotal SEC conference game. Factor in the Razorback's revenge motive and I'll take the generous points with a team that's gonna put up plenty of points of their own.

      LOUISVILLE +14 against UTAH

A big tip of the hat to the Utes for that impressive winning streak that came to an end last week against Oregon. Now you have to wonder if they can regroup fast enough to lay some pretty hefty wood against a Cardinals team that looked surprisingly good last week in a narrow defeat against in-state rival Kentucky. My money says no. I'll side with the momentum and the points, and take a Louisville team that should be able to keep it close.

      VIRGINIA TECH +2- against MIAMI

Wow, am I the only guy not ready to drink the Hurricane cool-aid? Various talking-heads this week have stated that Miami should be ranked #1 and Jacory Harris is the Heisman front-runner. ESPN is touting Miami OC Mark Whipple so highly that it's a foregone conclusion he'll have a marquis head coaching job by next season. And I'm not saying that Harris and Whipple aren't good. They are. But with only 2 wins under their belt I don't think the Hurricanes warrant being favored in Blacksburg against an historically prickly Tech team, who's already sharpened their teeth against some pretty stiff competition this year. The rain and the crowd will help the Hokies get their defense in gear and dash the Hurricanes ambitions.

      PENN STATE -9- against IOWA

This Nittany Lions team has purposefully shown nothing this year against the likes of Akron, Syracuse, and Temple. It was like watching preseason NFL football. Joe Pa simply wanted to gauge what weapons he had. But this week will be different. They're going to play for keeps against a Hawkeye team who's been a thorn in their side for years. Last years Iowa victory was the crowning blow. Today the Nittany Lion's will use the foul weather to their advantage by shutting down the Iowa rushing attack and they will win this game quite decisively.

      MIAMI-OHIO +7 at KENT STATE

Gonna dip my toe into the muddy waters of the MAC. I'm not so much betting on the Redhawks of Miami (who stand 0-3) but rather against the Golden Flashes. Sure Kent State has a victory, but that was against Coastal Carolina. The Flashes are only averaging 13 ppg, and now they're being asked to lay a TD? To make matters worse, their QB and top RB are both out for this game. The Redhawks power ratings are skewed downward because they've played three good teams already this season (Kentucky, Boise St, and W. Michigan). Today they outgain the Golden Flashes and come away with the outright victory.

      As always, best of luck,
      Harry

BOL, Harry. With you on Indiana, against you on "The U" and Penn State.

I seriously don't get how Utah is giving 14. Without their old qb, that offense looks like trash. Cain has had alot of trouble running that offense imo, if Utah is still ranked, i don't know what's going on. Their conference is weak, they're not playing very well, i just don't see what the hype is anymore.

Don't let Louisville fool you, they suck the fat man's ass. If anyone can make Utah's offense look good it will be the Cards. I'm a Cardinal fan and I'm biased so don't listen to me.

Take Minnesota -1 over Northwestern, Minnesota is going to roll on Northwestern by at least 2 scores. TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!

Not quite sure how you can do so well with your totals and be this off with your picks but I hope you turn it around. Good luck.
