Football Outsiders and PFF really have some solid data available for free this year.

Anyone else nutty enough to create power numbers?

I do this every year for college football and college basketball - the only two sports I bet and/or model.

not sure it's worth it to basically replicate massive amounts of power ratings out there that are free and very similar (don't get me wrong, i love power ratings... just don't spend time/energy reinventing wheel).

one power rating i saw once that i loved was a power rating simply based on games so far this season and done early in the season (assuming i guess that all teams connect).... i loved the true statistical nature of it i.e. thinking WF is the top team in america if i remember correctly. of course WF obviously wasn't but it certainly gave you some teams to watch closely.

The problem with most power ratings though is that they're all basically derived the exact same way. As such, they're all subject to the same biases.
