    Auburn & Tenn & UAB @ Marshall ~~*In Depth*~~
    AUBURN @ TENN
Auburn has plowed its way into SEC, and maybe national title, contention with a running game that has lately been making the forward pass more luxury than necessity. The run-heavy formula is working well so far for the seventh-ranked Tigers, who face the conference's worst run defense statistically Saturday when they visit Tennessee.

Auburn (8-1, 4-1) attempted nine passes at Arkansas last Saturday and still won 35-17.
"We just feel like we're a big freight train and once we get started, it's hard to stop us," tailback Tre Mason said.
Mason and speedy quarterback Nick Marshall have helped the Tigers continue barreling down the tracks with a running game that leads the league and ranks sixth nationally, averaging 306.2 yards.
Auburn's offense didn't slow down much against the Razorbacks when Marshall was nursing a shoulder injury that limited him in practice leading up to the game, helping contribute to the minimal passing.
Now, the Tigers face Tennessee, which allowed 339 rushing yards in a 31-3 loss at then-No. 10 Missouri last Saturday and gives up an average of 201.7 yards on the ground. That apparent matchup advantage doesn't require much change in philosophy.

The Tennessee Volunteers and the Auburn Tigers face off on Saturday in Knoxville in a SEC college football matchup.
The Tennessee Volunteers are in year one of their rebuilding project under Butch Jones but they are also a game under .500 with three games left to play in the regular season. The Tennessee offense is averaging 25.1 points and 359.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 18 times. Justin Worley has completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 1,239 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Rajeon Neal as rushed fir 771 yards and nine touchdowns and he has 19 catches and Marlin Lane averages 5.8 yards per carry with four touchdowns. Alton Howard leads the UT receivers with 36 catches and three touchdowns and Marquez North has 32 catches and a touchdown. The Tennessee defense allows 29.4 points and 429.3 yards per game with 12 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 12 sacks. A.J Johnson has 76 tackles, Brian Randolph has 53 tackles, and Dontavious Sapp has 52 tackles. Tennessee needs to go at least 2-1 in their final three games if they want to be bowl eligible.
The Auburn Tigers are one of the most improved teams in college football and they look to play out their season just as string as they have played the first three quarters. Auburn averages 36.8 points and 494.9 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 13 times. Nick Marshall has completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 1,266 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for 520 yards and five touchdowns. Tre Mason has gained 921 rushing yards and he has 13 rushing touchdowns and he has nine receptions and Cameron Artis-Payne as rushed for 515 yards with five touchdowns. Sammie Coates has 24 catches and five touchdowns and Marcus Davis and Ricardo Louis have 19 catches each. Auburn allows 20.1 points and 398.9 yards per game with 10 interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and 21 sacks. Chris Davis has 43 tackles, Jonathon Mincy has 41 tackles, and Dee Ford has 7.0 sacks. Auburn had just two interceptions last season.
Tennessee is 4-1 against the spread following a game in which they didn’t cover the point spread, 5-13-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 7-19-1 against the spread in their last 27 home games against a team with a winning road record. The underdog has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.

Tigers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.
Volunteers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.
Volunteers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game.
    • Underdog is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
    • Road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
