I'm tired of hearing how Ohio State has a weak schedule and couldn't handle the almighty SEC (they DO have a weak schedule, but so does everyone else who isn't California). So let's look at it. As to the "Ohio State is too slow and couldn't handle the speedy teams" nonsense. Slow Ohio State played Speedy Oregon in the Rose Bowl and didn't break a sweat in their win. Then they played Arkansas (who was actually leading the uber-l33t SEC in passing that season) and was up 28-10 at the half in that victory. But on to the schedules.
Alabama's Strength of Schedule ranking is 40th... compared to the "laughably weak" 67th of Ohio State.
They play:
A bad Virginia Tech who is 4-1 but haven't played against a team I recognize yet.
Texas A&M (who forgot to bring their defense to the game and Alabama won by 7.)
Colorado St (who?)
A 3-2 Ole Miss who just lost to Auburn.
Georgia St (who?)
Kentucky (this isn't basketball)
Arkansas (who has only beaten community colleges this season)
Tennessee (who has a tough schedule but hasn't actually won any of the tough games)
LSU (Alabama's only challenge left this year)
2-3 Miss St
Chattanooga (WHO?)
And Auburn (who already lost to LSU, the only challenge so far)
As for the rest of the SEC teams, Georgia already lost to Clemson (a non-SEC team?? how is that possible??) and struggled for half the game against North Texas (??). South Carolina lost to aforementioned Georgia and doesn't have a challenge again until week 10. Florida has only played powderpuff teams except for Miami of Florida, who they lost to (yet ANOTHER non-SEC team???).
The SEC starts off all ranked in the Top 10, every year, plays puffball teams and loses to each other so that their rating doesn't decline because, well, they're all "Top 10 teams." Then they do mediocre in every bowl season.
I realize stats and numbers are difficult for the south to grasp, but just do some research every once in a while. You all bet on football, I would think you would know these things. I'm not saying one league or team is better right now, I'm saying that every year I watch the SEC lose games and drop 2 spots in the rankings because they're all playing each other. There are 8 ranked teams with a loss so far this year. 6 of them are from the SEC and most are still ranked above undefeated teams.
I've always found this article to be interesting. It talks about several things, including how all "neutral bowl game locations" seem to be within held in the south, within walking distance of the SEC team playing in it. Gator Bowl held in Florida... featuring Florida? Are you kidding me?

I can't wait for the playoff format and the death of the BCS. Just my two cents.
