Bama down to -18

Some pretty drastic line movement here. Very tempted to take Bama at anything -20 or below. It was -24 not too long ago...

I know there are some followers of both teams on here - thoughts?

I actually follow both teams with Bama being my favorite, an VT being my second favorite. Tech is going to get demolished. Give yourself an early Christmas present. Bet Alabama.

Bama looks like the play to me at -18. This game is being played at the Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA. So it is not in Tuscaloosa. But this will not help Tech much. Tide should roll.

The Off Shore Books have the line anywheres from 17 1/2 to 18. Vegas has it anywheres between 18 1/2 to 19 1/2. It is way too early to start watching the spread on this game. The Off Shore Books individually do not take in nearly as much money as a Vegas shop would, and limit the amount of the wager that they will accept. Because of that, it takes a lot less money to change a line. In Vegas, it takes a lot more money to do so.

There are a few SEC games where the lines are pretty off, and this is definitely one of them. I'll be pounding this line until it gets over 21 points. Might be a good game to place in a teaser as well.

The only thing that scares me about this game is A) Bama will not be taking this VT team seriously and will be looking ahead to Texas A&M and B) the play calling will be extremely vanilla because the coaches wont want to show A&M anything for the show down September 14th. Still think bama will run all over them, even if the play calling is very basic. Should put up at least 5 tds and only allow maybe 10 pts.

Bama can have vanilla play calling and still blow teams out (ND in the title game). I think this is one where they physically abuse VT into submission. I can see a 35-6 type of game. Bama is going to want a shut out in this one. Saban takes one game at a time. They'll be ready.

Vegas always badly underrates Bama at the beginning of the season. The oddsmakers are fallible, and they're often wrong.

two words why Alabama is the play here: Logan Thomas!....he sucks major moose dong and has no business being a starting a QB...Yes, he's big, athletic, strong arm but his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired...he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn if his life depended on it!...and like most typical "athletic" QB's, he has the tendency to take off running more often than not and that will play right into the Tide's hands!
