    Southern Cal "Hot Seat"
USC head coach Lane Kiffin is on notice: Show some leadership, show some maturity and win games. Kiffin's pettiness and immaturity has worn thin with AD Pat Haden. Haden sent basketball coach Kevin O'Neill packing last year in the middle of the season. Another flameout like last year and Kiffin will join O'Neill down on the Southern California beaches.

USC was preseason No. 1 last season and finished out of the top-25 with an 8-5 record. Kiffin's nightmare bowl trip (loss) has Haden and other school officials on edge. I'm not so sure USC higher ups think Kiffin is the long term answer for the football program.

    Interesting situation to watch.

    Kiffin is gone.

I think you can start the search now.

His team will be thinner in depth, and has a new DC.

I think they lose 4 games-- and that's it for Kiffin.

USC plays 13 games this season, not 12. A 9-4 record is enough to save his job, considering the QB situation and the fact that the team is very thin because of sanctions not related directly to him. They will be dogs at Notre Dame, home to Stanford, and possibly Arizona State and Oregon State, both of whom they play on the road.

        Completely disagree.

You think USC is going to give him a pass at 9-4? No way. Especially considering they don't have to play Oregon this season.

They lost to UCLA and ND for the first time in 15 years last season. And it very well could happen again. Throw in yet another Stanford loss, and there is no way in hell Kiffin survives.

Had he not had all the secondary bullshit (The jersey at Colorado, the ball at Oregon, lying to the AP, the fight after the GT loss)--- I would say he may have another year, but 9-4 and he is gone.

Not according to the alum, and we are the ones who generally make these decisons, despite what you may think. After all, we are the tones who are spending a grand for each season ticket. The bottom line is simple. He has the talent of a 9-4 team.

Sam, just wondering and not trying to be nosey...if you don't mind, what state are you from? You have some sharp opinions that appeals to some of our guys...not ugly but to the point.

You have offered some good stuff here and we appreciate your input to the forum. I'm looking for information that can help me win a game or two. You seem to love college football and we look forward to your input.

Thanks for helping SBR become the best CFB site on the net. I know there are two SEC assistant coaches who read our threads. Probably more.............
