Apparently this is a fight of the year contender. I'm about to watch it now.

yeah great fight...CHandler is a beast and Alvarez looked just like Edgar against Maynard at times there! DIfference was Chandler was relentless with the pressure unlike Maynard

Big thanks to ryan bader for ending things early against brilz, and allowing me to watch that live.
i thought it would be FOTY for sure, and then shogun/hendo happened.

chandler is a scary man at 155....i think he`s more powerful than gray maynard......he was walking alvarez down early and ragdolling him...every shot he landed hurt alvarez...and alvarez is a fantastic 155 pounder....
the really scary part is,he basically beat alvarez at his own game....with that kind of power stand-up game and the wrestling base(which he used sparingly during the fight),chandler is a real player...
i`m fricking speechless at the man`s strength...

yeah guy is a beast - he's got a solid chin and great recovery as well - like a combination of Edgar and Maynard or something!

It's too bad Bellator is so stupid and has fights the same time as the UFC. It sucks so many people missed that.

Yep the Thursday time slot was perfect. I heard they plan on going back to that next season.

I hope this rumor is true. Thursday was perfect. More eyeballs on a non-UFC night.
Two things Bellator needs to do:
1. Change nights. A must.
2. Bjorn needs to ease up on the restrictions he places on these damn tournaments. He refused to give Fujii a rematch with Zoila, and now it sounds like he is refusing to give Alvarez an immediate rematch with Chandler. His reasoning? They need to "win next year's tournament first". Absolutely ridiculous.

that's one of the problems with tournaments. they 'reset' the ladder. the put everyone back on the same level playing field, even though they aren't on the same level playing field. the upper guys should fight the upper guys, and the lower guys should fight the lower guys.
now, with this season's 135 tournament, all 8 guys were on the exact same level, so i had no problem with them fighting it out. someone like alvarez shouldn't have to beat 3 more guys to get a title shot, although i have no doubt the 155 tournament will be STACKED next season.

I followed bellator seasons from start to finish before they moved them to Saturdays. Since they moved them I have only watched isolated fights.

seriously! I was watching bellator late night after the ufc, and as rebney got on the mic talking how chandler / alvarez was the fight of the year I was thinking, "did rebney see shogun / hendo" hahaaaa!
