Patrick is being ridiculously overvalued here and I'm not sure why. I'd be inclined to believe that it's the perception that Makdessi is susceptible to being grinded out by good wrestlers, but Patrick is not a good wrestler. He does the exact same thing every fight, and I can almost guarantee you that he'll circle for a few moments as if he's going to strike, and then he'll wildly rush towards Makdessi, throw a punch, and try to wrap his arms around Makdessi's legs for a takedown. He's incredibly predictable. He's also never fought outside of Brazil before, for what that's worth here, and has shown to fade deep into fights, which is something Makdessi should be able to take advantage of, if Patrick even makes it that far. One of the only things I'm truly worried about is the fact that Patrick is a southpaw, and Zahabi has shown over and over again that he doesn't understand that matchup. If that weren't a concern, I'd bet much bigger here.

The line drop on Makdessi really just gives us a much better bet. I think the public is focused on believing that large reach advantages are the be all and end all. Well, when you are Spider or Bones that may be true...not Patrick.

Yea, that 30-27 was unconscionable, inconceivable, and the worst judging on planet earth.

Think I coulda stomached losing a split dec of 29-28s. I had it 30-27 Makdessi when I rewatched (think I value sig. strikes more than most judges). The 30-27 though almost makes it a "Thor, check in" moment.
