#286Originally posted by MDHis wife came out with a statement saying that he slammed her. It was f-cking hilarious, she blamed his MMA training for turning him into a violent masochist who wanted violent sex, and best of all, she said that she could not defend herself, I shit you not, because of his "increased attacking ability".Comment -

#304Gonna be interesting if Gus can do ok on the ground the 1st couple rounds and not get finished. Training with Phil should help him alot. I'm sure Jones knows this will probably be his biggest challenge yet, though. Still, if Goose can start landing some good shots, I think he'll really go after Jones. He won't be like Machida and be slowing down by the 2nd round, or Rashad and just stand there...even though Rashad didn't really land too great of shots on Jones with that headkick and right hand. Length/height has alot to do with that I think, it's hard to be too confident going after someone aggressively who has such a height/reach advantage...which Jones won't have nearly as much of one here.
I just have a feeling that Jones won't react too well when he actually gets hit hard and there's a good amount of time left on the clock and he knows the person he's fighting isn't about to slow down. I mean, look at the way he ran away vs Machida when he got hit pretty decently, or how he retreated the whole 3rd round vs Bonnar, (he's improved a ton since then, but still, if he gets put in a similar position...he may react in a similar way).
Chances are that Jones will probably be able to take Gus down enough in the first 3 1/2 rounds or so that even if he can't take Gus down really late, Gus will still be too worn/beaten down himself to do enough to force a stoppage...or of course Gus could get finished but I have a feeling it won't be easy vs Jones.
I like Luca's idea of the over 2.5 here or maybe even Jones by decision. But I actually think Gus ITD at +620 might not be bad for a little bit...prolly just go with the over, though.
However, if Gus shows up looking like that^, I'm definitely going to bet him ITD.Comment -

#311Originally posted by mmaedLol well we will see. I think Khabib wins but Healy is going to have the better jiu jitsu. Not sure how the standup plays out either. Khabib has some power but his technique looks like shat. He should have lost the decision against Tibau. His last two wins were impressive though. Healy had an impressive win over Jim miller as well.
Anyway, Healy has the better jiujitsu because Khabib is a Sambo practitioner. A really high level one at that. I don't like Healy's chances on the feet either.Comment -
