I bought $20 worth on Nov 13 just for grins. It is now worth $40.93.

Why so slow? Since we started the contest, +4% ROI is standard for 48-hour period!

How do you sell / convert it back to USD on PayPal?

I read all of their Crypto links and info, and couldn't find that

I'm assuming they have a simple process, and charge some fee. Maybe once you buy some crypto on PayPal and your balance shows, the buttons to sell it appear.....?

??? I bought $20 worth on Nov 13 when Bitcoin was at $16,259. Bitcoin doubled and my $20 doubled. Sounds right to me.

Yes, there's a buy/sell button when you click on the 3 dots-->See My Holdings. The 3 dots may not show until you buy some.

Does this mean we should keep any transfers under $10k in value?

For example, at current prices if I wanted to transfer .6 BTC should I break it down into three separate transactions of .2 BTC to get it from my book to my wallet?

I would keep it under $10k per transaction until we see what's up. More news on this will come out tomorrow.

Probably not news to knowledgable guy like u. But I watched an interview w/ the Winklevoss twins. In addition to being Bitcoin bulls, they're also very hi on Ethereum.

I still make the mistake of transferring straight from the book to my wallet and vice versa. I’m just not very tech savvy. I wonder if this could burn me if the tax rules stiffen up.

Are they basically trying to ID anyone sending crypto so they can tax it?

Not sure how that would work. Seems like it would be difficult to figure out net losses and gains. If they’re trying to tax every transaction like it’s a gain it doesn’t make sense

Definitely my favorite coin now. BTC and ETH biggest holds. After that ADA.

it says if anyone sends more than 3k dollars worth of crypto to an "unhosted or otherwise uncovered wallet" in a single transaction, then they want details about the transaction.... I take that to mean when you send it off of the exchange you bought it from, thus not keeping the crypto in the wallet the exchange provides for you.

I could be wrong, but I believe 3k is also a threshold amount for typical wire transfers, a rule which existed prior to crypto, as a way for them to be informed about people moving money. They also had the 10,000 dollar rule which applied to cash, specifically.

This + exchange delisted all privacy coins. the Sec want to know all the transactions and tax it.

I'll be interested to see how the market reacts to these mini-dips:

*At the moment, we're about 6% off the ATH. Would seemingly be a Buy Opportunity for some of this new $$ coming into the mkt.

Nice link that current Coin prices and comparison to ATH:

Ever since it's crossed the 20k threshold there has been immediate bounces after a dip. A matter of minutes to buy before it snaps back and then gradually up

keep those sportsbook withdrawals LOW if you don't want to be at the mercy of price fluctuation

i withdrew at about 32k this morning from bol, even with a huge fee (292.3 sat/byte) it is now 31,200 at the 5 confirmation mark

    that's a $250 hit on a 10k withdrawal

Or use a book like Nitro that keeps your balance as btc. I can't imagine the gains and losses one will occur in the next day or so as people are selling off BTC and buying in to these other altcoins.

Wait for dips, they will happen. People have to take out money. ETH is the better of the two.

9/2/20 posted this. Still agree although it could be more.

I'm guessing $40-50k before the next big dump. There will be bumps along the road. People grab profits now and then.

Raiders, appreciate you sharing your insights. A few questions (and some may be dumb):

    1) Does Ethereum process just like Bitcoin? I haven't bought ETH yet.
    2) Is buying Ethereum akin to diversifying your portfolio?
    3) Is there any scenario where BtC and ETH move in opposite directions? If so, what would that scenario be?
    4) The Winkelvoss Twins called ETH "digital oil". WTF does that mean? And is that a good analogy?

    Thx for any insight.

*Making an announcement on the BtC Rocket contest. Going to make a small change going fwd:

*If/when we get to 40k, going to change the payday targets to every 2k instead of every 1k. So, 42k, 44k etc.

This has been a lot of fun. Amazingly, I think we've hit ~70% of the new ATH targets. Just want to hold back some pts for donations, poker etc.

Call it the SBR halving event, if u will. BTW, I've been selecting the contestant simply on criteria of:
    1) Preference to SBR Pros.
    2) Give chance to any guy who posts good Crypto info in this thread.

Is anyone here staking eth? I considered it but the overall direction seemed vague and shady at the very least. Also the penalties for things out of control such as power outage or interrupted internet connection could be subjective bordering on outrageous
