    What Happend to Bitcoin processing

Several weeks ago, there were 200,000+ unconfirmed transactions, and people were waiting hours to get transactions confirmed, even with significant fees. I looked today, and there are ~25,000 unconfirmed transactions. Was there something that happened to make things confirm faster? Did people start paying more fees?

I am relatively unsophisticated with bitcoin, and cannot find any news about it.

I noticed this too. The default fees on blockchain were like 40 cents the other day compared to over a dollar recently

It's just bottle neck effect once weekends and evenings hit that helps miners catch up also when price rises or drops quick and peeps panicking selling or buy it clogs network....I'd say as long as it's about 50k things move fast
