People think BTC and ETH are "too expensive". So they go for the more affordable coin.
ETC was getting pumped on social media. I saw that pump coming, but had no interest in jumping on a flawed coin.
People are looking to gamble on a get rich pump instead of investing for the long run.
Market has not been rational last couple months, but everything is up so everyone is winning right now.

Agree that money will flow back to top coins. You already see that when there is a dump, these other coins drop more drastically than the big coins.

I've got a huge boner for ada for the next 5-10 yrs. If this crypto bubble is like the dotcom one, cardano could be one of the last coins standing.

They are ready to go for the next level in POS tech but haven't fully developed the tools necessary for complete defi yet that others can and are performing at the moment

Fair to say that ADA competes vs ETH? And why the Fk do they abbreviate it ADA when it's Cardano (LOL)?

ADA is better but ETH has a big head start because of the projects built on ETH. ETH is the main currency of the DeFi economy and is also used on Uniswap. ETH must keep improving on fees and scalability. If ETH continues to improve, then ETH will overtake BTC in market cap. If ETH slips up, then ADA replaces ETH.

Yea, Uniswap currently due to the fees, unless your doing transactions with at least 4 digits, is not worth using. Its basically only for whales at this point. Waiting to see what their layer 2 solutions looks like.

Cant hurt to have a bag of ADA....if they end up delivering, that will be a huge return.

Going on deployment for 2 years soon. Trying to figure out the best crypto to invest in that I will come home to in mid-2023 and be up over 200% or more. Or stock too. Was thinking etc, btc of Eth. Also like the stock MARa bc of its massive drop of late and its a btc miner.

Any tips?

I'll give u a tip. It's a site I started on about 6 weeks ago. Check out: BlockFi.

Take a look at the interest rates they apply. Not the BEST for Bitcoin, b/c the rates dip after 1.00 BtC.

Very good for Litecoin and other coins. Long story short, you can earn interest on your Crypto.

Just my two cents. Try to get some Crypto on there b4 you leave. If it works out as we'd hope, your Crypto grows and you get interest on top of that.

Sweet thanks. What’s your opinion on the main cryptos like btc, etc, eth, XLm, etc....is there one that has a lot of upside that isn’t as much of a risk? I know people like Doge, but it’s too risky for me to put too much into it.

As for selecting individual cryptos, this is a great thread for education. My two cents (not investment advice):

1) I think you want SOME BtC in your portfolio. The supply could be (mostly) dried up in the near future. If you could get up to 0.10 BtC in your portfolio, you should feel like you're ahead of the game.
2) ETH looks like a powerhouse.
3) LTC has been the coin that I've advocated many times in this thread. Currently running good. And LTC is great for fast transactions.

As for other coins, a bit above my pay grade. I don't want to speak on items that I am not knowledgable about.

One last comment, Navy:

*Risk vs reward. That's the name of the game. If we only had a crystal ball.

I do like BlockFi, tho. Think it's well worth a small % of your diversified portfolio. In an inflationary economy, think in terms of Real vs Nominal asset appreciation. Have to be growing your assets at the rate of inflation to maintain your purchasing power.
