The guy has impeccable control....reminds me of Maddux. His changeup is his out pitch and it also is very effective against lefty batters. Has good composure as well. He was as highly regarded as Hanson in the minors but he didn't have the electric stuff Hanson has (or had before 2012). I did expect him to be a mid rotation type of starter at the least but I have to admit I'm surprised at this.....but make no mistake he is legit.

In 10 starts, Medlen has gone 8-0 with a 0.76 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 72/9 K/BB ratio over 70 2/3 innings. Absolutely remarkable!

Right now Medlen and AJ Griffin are the two best starters in the majors. Right now I said.
Both of them don't have enough innings pitched to qualify for anything though.

Know this, next season if Brandon Beachy is healthy, the Brave rotation might be the best in the majors.
If Beachy is 100 percent I said.

He isn't overpowering hitters, he has a killer changeup, changes speed, and has great location. Same method Maddux used.
