Looking ahead to tomorrow it's Rodon Day. I have him ranked at #1 right ahead of Verlander (#2) Manoah comes in at #3 followed in order by Woodruff and Musgrove in order to round out my top 5 of my top tier. Will have to utilize the RL with Verlander. Good thing the Astronauts are one of my top 7 offenses vs Jon Gray my 21st ranked arm

Clear cases of a loss in a straight in this format for the FF moves and huge fantasy league wins and all that one could hope for with

            Lauer 5 innings 4K's and 0 walks

            Skubal 5 innings 5 k's and 0 walks;

Back again at it this wonderful overcast day here in Tampa and waiting on the rain.

For my top tier top 10's I am electing to go with 3 as my fantasy streamers with Verlander, Manoah, Woodruff and Cortes, Jr. (the latter isn't in the top tier today as his event was postponed and i performed my rankings early yesterday.

The switch from Peterson and Gomber seems to be under way and it looks as if the pitching changes will lead to a bullpen game in Coors.

When it comes to making moves on parlays-don't do them often. The straight move is the pro's bread and butter. Welp..today is one of those days.

It's best to parlay with inner division teams and in those cases almost certainly always take the underdogs.

What I look for is a significant line movement erasing some of the crumbs of the underdog coupled with a rise of the total or a frozen total.

Such is the case today with the Orioles going from +139 to +119 as a dog to the Rays with only 13% of the cash on their side and the total has stayed frozen at 8.5 with 78% of the cash on the under; and on the other coast the A's went from +157 to +127 with 19% of the cash on their side and the total remains at 7.5 with 80% of the cash on the over

Ok so what I am doing is combining

The three things that the line makers don't account for properly are motivation, situation and familiarity. that's why when you parlay you should always go with inner division underdogs with good numbers that reflect that they aren't outclassed. That's in any sport..NFL, NCAA FBALL, NBA, MLB, etc

Trevor Williams has a road ERA of 18.00 and a WHIP of 3.50.

Ty Blach (the Preacher) has been honing his craft and working his way back to the bigs. His fourseam fastball has heavy sinking action, has essentially average velo and has slight armside run. His change dives down out of the zone and results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups. His slider has less than expected depth, has primarily 12-6 movement and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sliders. His sinker has surprisingly little armside run, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sinkers, has slightly above average velo and has some natural sinking action. His curve is slightly harder than usual.

                        All of this leads to

Sunday is always a major streaming day and while there aren't a ton of locked moves , the offerings that I have should help you all out

Load up on Wade Miley (Cubs) overnight. if you've got him on your rosters-start him-he will be the POD facing the weak hitting Snakes. He should be a very popular pickup for tomorrow. He dominated against the Coffee Cakes with cutters inside to righties, changeups away, and good fastballs. The Snakes aren't much different making for what I expect to be a good time.

Merrill Kelly also gets love in the top tier despite his recent struggles against top teams. he's rostered across leagues and now faces the Cubs. you're starting him

As a side note-Connor Overton and Johnny Cueto have each performed well lately, but their matchups are tough. Don't do this

Holy smokes! Most of what I wanted to make a move on had chalk to high for me to roll with in this format-so I placed my rostered streamers in the leagues I like only.

So in order for the information to help out here are the rankings; my moves on this format will be in the next post

#4 Severino (Bombers) Too much juice
#5 Kelly (Snakes) Paired with my POD for an UNDER FF
#6 Eovaldi (Red Sox) In play
#7 Bieber (Guardians) I had McKenzie rostered for today and a postponement happened
                                  #8 Taillon (bombers)
                                  #9 Kikuchi (Jays)
                                  #10 Matz (Cardinals
                                  #11 Eflin (Blunts)

Ok so Kikuchi is on a fantastic 3 start run now and gets the lowly Red Leggins bats in Toronto-you have to let him roll here.

With Eovaldi-he's still a good play vs Sailors. he had a start where things didn't go his way; don't overthink it. And Trevor Story is hot as fish grease right now

Steve Matz has had his fair share of bumps in the road-but the Coffee Cakes make way for what should be a smooth Sunday afternoon.

Okay Gonsolin isn't impressing me enough with his slider to warrant a second tier move against the Blunts; though he could earn a win on the back of the Dodgers offense and some well placed splitters. So the ranking of Eflin at #11 isn't an indictment against the Dodgers at all-it's purely my rankings at work

Just some thoughts on the data mining performed..

It's been a tough road for Alex Wood of the G-Men thus far, though I very much believe in the skill set with a HARDER fastball from last year and a slider that looks to match its dominant self from last year. Sadly he gets the Fathers, who can make southpaws struggle on the bump. I think that he can pull it off, but it could be tricky. I have him on my rosters and can't wait to see him on the board -145 or more which would be a tell tale sign that he will be facing overmatched bats. It's coming. patience is a virtue. Keep him even if you aren't starting him because he is an ace up your sleeve

I'm excited to see bailey Ober of the twins return frm the injured list; who fanned 7 with no walks in his 5.0 rehab start. I generally follow the rules of first starts off the injured list for a guy like Ober; and I recognize that he may be ready against a weak Royals offense; however rules are rules and I will wait it out until his next start and keep him on my deep rosters

Alcantara performed like a true top tier number 1 today going 9 innings with 7 k's and 2 BB's; padding the wallet along the way. He gave me a PUSH in this format giving up the run in the top of the 5th-no sweat however. He kept the lights on!

PODs moved to 28-14 after yesterdays win with Miley. It's good when you can win in this format and across the board. Miley went through the first five frames with 3 K's and no walks and no runs which is a good thing given the fact that he started running onfumes in the 6th when he gave up the 3 runs

I really don't look at cash or consensus much...that will lead you astray. Identifying reverse line movement is one thing-knowing why the line is moving is another. You can have big money boys blasting at one side to get better value on the true side that they intend to make a move on and all types of other wildness. I tend to lean more towards getting knowledge of the pitchers and then making the most of the time that they will be in the game; most of the time it's for the first five innings. The beauty of this approach is the the push moves that happen which avert total disaster even on a subpar day. You can't get a push of any kind on a side for a full event move; you can get a push on a total. And even then you are at the mercy of a bullpen or managerial decisions to throw the guy in with the 10.30 ERA...

Triston pitched to contact and got the outs! Good stuff!

Berrios has been a fantasy STUD tonight with 7 K's and no walks over 6 1/3rd.

                                                            Kuhl cost me a bit.

Wheeler came with 9 K's and 0 walks over 6 innings and he's still out there mowing down Braves for fun. In this format it may be an up and down night so far-however I am certain that I will be cashing out by night's end for my leagues. I will never be the guy that leaves money in his account and then eventually loses it back to the book. I don't want to see a high account balance-i want to see my bank account balance high-not theirs. If it looks like I keep on making moves on the same arms day in and day out-I am. Keep my boys on your rosters!

I generally don't go for starts like these, though Sears has strikeout ability, fanning 21 batters in his last 3 minor league starts. He's the pick solely because I don't trust Aaron Ashby as a lefty vs the Fathers and Reid Detmers is shaky without his slider, even if it's the Wanderers. There are better streams than this-which is why I didn't offer it in this format.
