Snatching up some Nick Martinez (Fathers) overnight in 4 leagues vs Cubs tomorrow. He will be my POD. Now hopefully there is no pitching change so I am going with listed in the event that happens

Bad beat with Brews-tied up after FF and then they score the go ahead run in the top of the 6th! Egads!

          5-4-0 on those.

I brought home the bacon with Detmers and the no-hitter. I am gonna cash out again this morning and keep using my books like an ATM machine. Don't leave your money in there too long y'all. When you get ahead scoop it out instead of letting them take your money later on when you have a losing streak.

            It's Ohtani Day!

The top tier begins with Ohtani and we should all be so thankful for it. What a time to be alive! He is facing McClanahan who is in the #3 slot-so much to my chagrin under it is and live with collateral damage knowing that I am chasing strikeouts with both of these studs

Do I feel that Alcantara is the de facto #2 move? Not really given his command issues of late; However he does have a favorable matchup to get success. Merrill Kelly has made some huge paydays for me this year and is slotted at #7. The under is in effect

Then there's the Great Undulater Berrios. I know that it's the Bombers, and he hasn't been himself, nevertheless Berrios is one of those arms who performs how he performs regardless of the opponent. He fluctuates like this every season, and if you have him rostered, you start him. this is the way.

Ian Anderson has been a cherry bomb this season; I'm still throwing him out there trying to catch him at his lowest point and ride the wave on in as #13 vs my #5 Eovaldi. This one can either have 7 runs scored in the first five frames or I can have both pitch lights out. The gain has me willing to take the risk and I have rostered up with both of these men in 4 leagues today

Nick Martinez is my streaming POD facing the Cubs. I don't think he's as polished as he can be at the moment; however he went 7 strong last time out and the Cubs shouldn't be a major hurdle to stop his momentum. I haven't seen this game assigned a number so I fully believe that this will be a bullpen game for the Cubs.

My move for the OVER with Astronauts/Twins isn't an indictment against Archer (#22) and Urquidy (#12) it's more shameless utilization of the Twins off of a shutout loss combined with Archer's stunning ability to alternate getting shelled and having good command lately.

Today is a day that most may want to stay away from these. A market correction is occurring somewhat with respect to the numbers with the FF totals and also especially with the money for FF sides-which of course is forcing me to be more exposed and go with a few more RL's than I like in my effort to stay below the ceiling of -160 that I will stake as a wager.

Don't go down in flames with me. I am making probably 3-4 times more money playing these arms with fantasy leagues than I am with straight moves on these. It's not even close. There's nothing like cashing out frequently to be prepared for the hard times that eventually come with collateral damage!

Those who like playing my shutout system the Twins would be the only move since they are not facing a #1 starter; and have a winning record; being the underdog the RL is to the letter of the law, the way that they must be bet.

As far as the Rays are concerned they ARE facing a #1 starter in Ohtani, and of course do have a winning record.

Take comfort in the fact that the Twins have little to no support for this event-so at the very least it's a contrarian move. I will add this move into today's news above

I put in a small move on this:

                Twins+0.5 -130 FF Archer/Urquidy (S/O (A))

Wow! Nick Martinez put an end to my POD streak. It's doubly tough because I had him in 4 leagues today. Then the Jays had the bases juiced in the 1st inning and no outs and only came away from that situation with one run.

                    No sweat. It's collateral damage.

Don't hate the player; hate the game

Today is a short schedule day and really only a handful of moves have caught my eye.

Tijuan Walker's velocity was down yet again last time out and without a strong fastball he becomes a glutton for punishment. At this point in his budding career Joan Adon doesn't have the best of splits. OVER she blows.

Tyler Anderson is doing well; however I have Wheeler ranked higher than him and the juice is positive.

JT Brubaker comes in with a decent ranking and is my POD today-doesn't hurt that the Coffee Cakes bats seemingly are alive too and the Red Leggins bats are..well not. On any ordinary day I wouldn't have him rostered-so in other words tread lightly. there are many more opportunities this week

The following is usually a recipe for disaster. Through 5 innings a combined 6 walks; 7 hits and only 3 strikeouts between Adon and Walker and only 3 runs scored? Talk about an anomaly...wow!

                                      Tomorrow is ACE DAY!

Time to erase all of the sins of the early part of this week and get paid for recognition of and investing in excellence. I am gonna stake my power packed top tier top 10 against the man.

My POD's dropped to 24-11 today as Brubaker pissed on some good opportunity.

Tomorrow Dane Dunning (#15) and the Lumberjacks get to face Nick Pivetta (#26) at home. Don't get me wrong-the Red Sox are starting to hit the ball again; Nick Pivetta has not stopped getting hit either-tread lightly on this one-even if it is the best value move on the board. Top tier starters come with a hefty price tag. Their moves are of intrinsic value and should be so.

I am data mining right now. Here's an early look into my findings.

I am actually building up overnight on fantasy streamers for the list below like an MMA fighter in training.

If you've got 'em in your rosters; don't overthink this-just start 'em and live with the results.

I placed Dunning in 4 leagues; but not chasing K's with him

E-Rod (#10 Tigers) Easy assignment vs Men In Orange
Tyler Mahle (#14 Red Leggins) hey he's facing Keller (#28)
Dunning (#15) POD Value at it's finest-should he best Pivetta the reward is handsome
Burnes (#1 Brews) and Pablo Lopez (#7 Fish) This will obviously be a move for the UNDER
Scherzer (#3 Metropolitans) This will have to be a RL FF because of the juice-I will be somewhat exposed
Gausman (#4 Jays) Any man favored on the road vs the Rays has to be good-get it?
Kershaw (#5 Dodgers) This will have to be a RL FF No explanation necessary
Fried (#6) and Darvish (#9 Fathers) This will obviously be a move for the UNDER
Webb (#8 Giants) The groundball master. This will be tough-Hicks has the best defense in the bigs backing him
Greinke (#30 Royals) and Freeland (#24 Rox) This will be a move for the OVER between two DNS

I still can't believe that the Metropolitans/Nats event didn't go over the total. When the walks (6) are 2-1 over the K's(3) with 7 hits that is usually a recipe for disaster

I was able to get my money back for the Hard Rock for the Dodgers; every online book made me keep the purchase order in play. It all worked out in the end; and further confirmed why I hate having to take RL when the better pitchers are given a market correction and their juice becomes unmanageable.

My reluctant streamer pick of the day is Jakob Junis (Giants); who has had the best slider of his career across the last few weeks. He faces the Cardinals and I am ok with it. He hasn't gone more than 5 frames yet and I still question if his sinker can be the high called strike pitch it's been, but that slider could carry him to the finish line. I have elected to go with Junis in fantasy only and pretty much stick with the top tier top 10 for sides and totals today.

After Ace Day on Friday I did have a smaller crew in the top tier for today. the biggest point of contention is likely what to do with Luis Castillo-would most start him everywhere after showcased diminished velocity and failed to go five frames in his season debut? For me absolutely. He got his first start out of the way and now it's the Coffee Cakes at PNC Park. I'm starting the man; and have to roster him up. The Red Leggins are one of those teams that have the talent to be capable of going on a run-and when you think of it-they can't go anywhere but up with the worst record in the bigs

I see Michael Pineda as a strange option. The Orioles aren't a hug threat, though I can't rid myself of the thought that Pineda is running on fumes-there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot behind what he's doing. If you're on the Tigers-be careful. I elected to not go with my fantasy stud Bruce Zimmerman (#16) against Pineda (#18) simply because this one can turn into a "last team up" event with runs at a premium because both teams are light hitting right now.

The same thing can be said about the Metropolitans and Bassitt. George Kirby (#11) is indeed an up and coming stud and the Metros aren't hitting too nicely right now. My feelings on this one is that this will be low scoring game and hopefully the Metros will have one more run than the Sailors at the end of the first five frames. Kirby is climbing my ladder. I feel a bit exposed on this one-just gotta roll with my findings

The Tigers aren't knocking the stuffing out of the ball and neither are those guys who wear orange. So it goes without saying that since Skubal is my #10 today the UNDER is in full effect for that game. 25-12 now on POD fantasy streamers.
