I personally think Red Sox ride the momentum and get to Verlander who has been mediocre all year.

JV's been pretty damn good over the last month-plus. Not sure I see it. I'm not a huge Lackey fan either.

yeah (pssst...exter-day is now ommy-tay arate-kay...but don't tell anyone...)
anyhow, now posting as TK, he's got Dex's old system for MLB, NFL, and NCAAF up, updated and running at SBR...just search Tommy Karate/threads started/sort by thread...
Tommy either IS Dex...or he's got Dex chained up in the basement, running numbers and spitting out auto-plays in return for bread and water

I don't think mods even bother with sub-forums unless complaints are filed.

Impressive effort from Lynn and the Cards tonight.
As for my Tigers, what can you say. Can't win if you don't score. I'd like to know the odds on getting nothing out of a 1st and 3rd, one out situation with Cabrera at the plate. Ugh.

Yeah that's a tough beat man, this Tigers offense has me perplexed. How many times is Verlander going to twirl a gem and provided with no run support. That's 4 straight starts now where Verlander has allowed 1 run or less and he's lost 3 of those starts. If I was Verlander I'd be giving some of my pre-game ritual taco bell to some of my batters...

Jackson and Torii have been ghosts. Prince is RBI-less in the postseason. I'd hate to see where they'd be if they hadn't let roid boy back in the lineup.

I'm really surprised by Torrii's struggles, I always felt the Angels were stupid to let him walk, and I thought Jackson might have found his bat after the last few games against Oakland. Funny stat I posted previously, Tigers winning % jumps dramatically when Jackson has an .OPS >500. But even then how many times has Detroit had men on base and not score , men on 1st and 3rd with one out - no score.

Tigers really need to juggle their lineup, but Leyland wouldn't do that in the regular season, let alone in a playoff series. Jackson is lost up there. Torii's trying too hard.

Dodgers at -170. Yikes. A little inflated for my taste. May take St Lou +1 at +102 and take my chances. I think Cards realize today is the day because they get Kerfax in game 6. Just my honest opinion

dont you have to play cards at this price? or is it one of those scare tactics to keep ppl off la, cause they coming back to stl? either way last time i bet this series was against waino not think im ready to chase cards for a closeout win hoping i dont have to be going super large on gm 7, cards be dogs next 2 assuming it goes 6 and Kershaw pitches it, and while i dont like cards vs ryu ill be happy with another crack and waino against him in a gm 7...so the cards chase on for me..

Hard to say. Man, -170?!?! I figured -150 at the most. You're right: Cards or nothing at this price.

Los Angeles has outhit the Cardinals in each of the four games of the series, and held them to just a .134/.190/.175 line through three games; cumulatively, the Cardinals have outscored the Dodgers by just a single run, 8-7. The Cardinals are on the verge of winning this series because they’re deeper, they’re healthier, and they’re making fewer mistakes.
+160 for me.

As I've said before, Puig gets all the credit for the Dodgers resurrection, when in fact it's Hanley. This team goes as he goes. With him nursing an injury, the Dodgers revert back to their April/May ways.

I really think both teams will score, though to say so given how this series has gone so far is pretty illogical.
Good luck HW. Hopefully the lineup change will wake them up.

I like Fister. My dad and I were talking earlier and he's worried about how he'll do in such a high-pressure spot, but I think he'll be fine. Tigers have a pretty decent track record vs. Peavy too. It's just hard to say how the lineup change, the cooler temps and the pressure of trying not to fall behind 3-1 will affect this bunch -- especially given they aren't exactly in the best offensive state of mind right now.
