Summary

Action247 is locally owned and operated in Tennessee, which is nice to see in an industry oversaturated by large corporations. Unfortunately, Action247 lacks that “Mom and Pop” vibe you get from smaller local businesses. 

The company also shares ownership with another local business, Advance Financial 24/7, which operates online and physically at more than 100 locations in the state. Advance Financial operates what most would consider predatory business practices by offering customers short-term, high-interest “flex” loans at annual interest rates of up to 279.5%. These payday advances are often obtained by high-risk, distressed borrowers and habitual gamblers. Not exactly best practice for someone who operates a gambling platform.

A perk of having a locally-owned operator should be that you would see more favorable and flexible lines. But instead of operating as an independent bookmaker, Action247 has its odds sourced from Swiss-based BetRadar/SportRadar.

Coming into this book, you feel good about supporting a local-based bookmaker with all of the corporate giants out there. Unfortunately, Action247 disappoints you at every turn. 

Their promos are average-to-below industry standard. Some promoted on the site aren’t even active anymore as their expiration dates have passed. They require absurd rollovers up to 5x to cash in on a bonus. Their saving grace would be if they sourced odds in-house to be more competitive and flexible against more notable books. Instead, they source their odds from UK-based giant BetRadar/SportRadar, preventing an advantage or at least the ability to take a unique stance on odds on their part. 

It is difficult to find why anyone would use Action247 over bigger books as they do nothing to separate themselves and don’t embrace their local-oriented nature. Instead, they’re trying to mock corporate juggernauts with a fraction of the capability.

The user ratings for Action247 on both the App Store and Google Play are similar. There is a shared sentiment between the two platforms that users really want to support a local business, but that Action247 falls short of their expectations. The unfriendly user interface and poor terms in their bonuses and promos are very common complaints.
