#6I'm going on record now, Cougars are going to win 10 games very soon. I know that is not popular here and the odds for a huge misstep again by LK are astronomical but Houston...I predict we will not have a problem.

#14Could see this one coming. Kiffin can recruit. He will obviously try to use UH as a stepping stone but that is true of any Houston coach. About as good as they could do given they want a young guy.
Should have hired Art Briles but they can leave that to Texas Tech in a year or so if Koach Kool doesn't produce a winning season.Comment -

#19It's a good move for both. Kiffin is a big name and gives Houston a higher profile and he needs an opportunity to prove himself. He will not be dealing with prima donnas at UH and things will probably go pretty well for him. With the juice that program has and his ability to recruit, he should produce winners.Comment -

#28This guy has never overwhelmed as a head coach. As a Cougar fan, the only thing I can hope for is that he might have learned a few things from Saban that will straighten his past track record out. "Hope" is the key word.Comment -

#29Major Appliewhite?
They should have hired Miles and kept Applewhite as OC. May work out but a bad pick. Never wise to select a guy with no established recruiting talent.
Miles or Strong would have been way better. Kiffin way better. Briles the best. Nobody cares about a few rapes in Texas as long as it is not at a church school. Even the church schools don't mind until they get called out for it.
High risk move but it may work out.Comment -

#31They made the same dumb mistake when Sumlin left. Hired his OC.
If you like Applewhite, you just give him a million to stay on as OC for Miles. Miles will recruit well and if he doesn't pan out, you hire Applewhite.Comment -

Alabama OC Lane Kiffin was a finalist for the job, but Houston officials had serious concerns about Kiffin's transition timeline with Alabama in the Playoff, as well as breaking continuity with the current staff's relationship with recruits and current players.
They are worried about continuity when Herman is taking half the staff to Texas and thinking Applewhite is going to outrecruit Kiffin? Unreal the dumb mistakes these schools make and pay hundreds of thousands for consultants.
