MIN - RB Adrian Peterson still wants trade
Source: Yahoo! Sports - Charles Robinson
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson still wants to be traded, according to a source. Peterson intends to skip all organized team activities, which would cause him to lose $250,000 in workout bonuses.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Good luck with that. The Vikings clearly have the upper hand in this situation. They're not just going to give Peterson away because he's refusing to show up after feeling disrespected over the way the Vikings handled his child-abuse situation last year. The best time to trade him (the draft) has come and gone. Even if he doesn't want it, staying with the Vikings might be Peterson's best option.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson not attending OTAs
Source: The Associated Press
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has informed head coach Mike Zimmer that he will not attend the optional practices that begin Tuesday, May 26, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
No surprise here. Peterson has been staying away from Minnesota this offseason because of a perceived lack of loyalty at the way the Vikings deal with him last year. There are rumors of a holdout coming from Peterson, and there's still rumblings that Peterson wants to be traded. The Vikings hold all the cards here, and Peterson can't really do much except skip mandatory workouts next month and training camp to show his displeasure.

BUF - Rex Ryan favoring QB Tyrod Taylor?
Source: NFL.com - Conor Orr
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor was recruited by head coach Rex Ryan in free agency. Ryan believes in the talent evaluation personnel of Taylor's former team, the Baltimore Ravens, and he has always wanted a dual-threat quarterback to lead his run-heavy offense.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Taylor is one of the quickest and fastest players in the NFL. He can get to top speed in a hurry, and Taylor has make-you-miss ability as a runner in the open field. Taylor possesses a rocket arm, but his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. He was a 57 percent passer in four years of college at Virginia Tech, and Taylor has only thrown 35 passes in four years as a pro (with a completion percentage of 54.3). He's the most interesting of the Buffalo QBs, and rushing quarterbacks are always players fantasy owners should be monitoring.

MIA - Jay Ajayi to compete for starting RB?
Source: The Miami Herald
Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi is considered the No. 2 running back at this point and could potentially challenge RB Lamar Miller for the starting running back position.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ajayi is incredibly talented, but concerns about the long-term health of his knee caused him to fall to the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He's a strong inside runner with the ability to win after contact. Ajayi can create his own space with shoulder dips, juke moves and head fakes. He's also a fine receiver out of the backfield. Miller is in the final year of his contract, and Ajayi should take over as the RB1 next year -- but he could be the lead back sooner than some think.

CAR - QB Cam Newton showing confidence
Source: NFL.com - Conor Orr
Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton said no one has the size, the speed, the arm strength or the intangibles that he has. 'I'm not saying that to say I'm a one-on-one type of person that this league will never see another… I'm just saying that so much of my talents have not been seen in one person.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We love the confidence, but the Panthers (and fantasy owners) need Newton to play at a higher level in 2015. His 58.5 percent completion rate ranked 29th in the NFL last season. Newton has no fear when sending passes long, and the Panthers have added better weapons around him to help that. His 9.7 air yards per passing attempt was 4th-best in the NFL last year, and Newton put up those numbers under a lot of pressure. Only Joe Flacco (37.3) had a higher blitz-per-dropback percentage than Newton (35.8). We'll see if the Panthers can better protect Newton and if he can become a more accurate passer in 2015.

JAX - QB Blake Bortles working on mechanics
Source: The Florida Times-Union - Gene Frenette
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles is working this offseason on improving his mechanics to become a better quarterback. He attended 3DQB, which specializes in bio-mechanics motion analysis to help improve quarterbacks' footwork and throwing motion.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Jaguars have put better weapons around Bortles this offseason, and we'll have to see if that helps improve his play. Blitzed on 31 percent of his dropbacks in 2014, Bortles did a good job getting rid of the football quickly (average time before pass was 2.43 seconds). However, Bortles needs improved accuracy (58.9 percent completion rate in 2014) and that's where better mechanics (and better weapons) can help.

PHI - Nelson Agholor poised to shine?
Source: CBSSports.com - Rob Rang
Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor possesses the speed, agility, route-running skills and big-play ability to make him an immediate contributor as a rookie, in the opinion of CBSSports.com's Rob Rang. Agholor played in a pro-style offense at the University of Southern California and can line up all over the field. Rang also cites Philadelphia's strong running game as being a positive for Agholor.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The rookie from USC has the potential to become a dangerous weapon in the pros. He knows how to find the soft spots in a zone, and his speed greatly helps his run-after-the-catch ability. With Jeremy Maclin (Chiefs) moving on in free agency, Agholor is arguably the best player to take over as the team's WR1. Second-year pro Jordan Matthews is talented, but his Eric Decker-like skill set might be best used as a WR2/complementary player.

IND - QB Andrew Luck impressed by Phillip Dorsett
Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling
Indianapolis Colts WR Phillip Dorsett has impressed QB Andrew Luck with his ability to quickly learn the offensive scheme. 'It's definitely not too big for him,' Luck said. 'He fits in very, very well.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We love Dorsett's natural ability as a playmaker at the wide receiver position. We question how many targets the rookie will be able to get on a jam-packed Colts roster. Dorsett will compete with Duron Carter and Donte Moncrief for the WR3 job behind T.Y. Hilton and Andre Johnson. If Dorsett wins that job, he'll also be splitting targets with tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener.

CHI - DE Ray McDonald released
Source: ESPN - Adam Caplan
Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears DE Ray McDonald has been released Monday, May 25, just hours after being arrested for alleged domestic violence and child endangerment.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Bears weren't going to waste any time in this situation. McDonald had been arrested three times in the last nine months. This time, he allegedly assaulted a woman while she was holding a baby. We think the NFL drops the hammer on McDonald with a penalty that could end his NFL career.
