After what seemed like an eternity, we're back following the international break and offering our Premier League predictions for Matchweek 8. The soccer picks below feature Erling Haaland, Chelsea, and a battle between relegation probables that screams parity.

Haaland has catapulted out of the gate while scoring in all but one match, and he's been enjoying success against Everton, bagging four in as many meetings since arriving in England.

💰 Premier League predictions & expert picks: Matchweek 8

Here are my Premier League predictions for Matchweek 7. Odds are live and updated in real time.

  • Nottingham Forest vs. Chelsea: Chelsea ML (-105 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Man City vs. Everton: Erling Haaland anytime goal (-140 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Sunderland vs. Wolves: Tie (+210 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

Nottingham Forest vs. Chelsea: Chelsea ML (-105) ⭐⭐⭐

I don't enjoy picking on Ange Postecoglou as much as it seems, but the Aussie is already on thin ice, a treacherous place for a bulky man.

The match against Chelsea will be his eighth since taking over at Nottingham Forest, and he's still searching, like a single plankton in the ocean, for an elusive first victory.

I don't think it's coming against a Chelsea team showing glimpses of reaching peak form before the international break rudely interrupted its progress. The Blues beat Benfica and Liverpool in their last two games.

While both of those matches were at home, I hold no faith in a Nottingham Forest squad that appears dumbfounded in its attempt to adapt to a new manager's no-margin-for-error approach.

FanDuel is just in front of the other best sports betting sites in terms of value, offering -105 odds. The others provide the standard -110 juice. A winning $10 bet at FanDuel yields a $9.52 profit.

Erling Haaland prediction: anytime goal (-140) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Haaland has quickly become the most profitable player to bet on during the young season. The Norwegian is unstoppable when he's fit and in form, which has been the case throughout the opening seven games. Haaland has been on the score sheet in six of those matchups, bagging nine goals.

The impressive Antoine Semenyo has logged the second-most goals (6). They're the only pair with more than four, demonstrating Haaland's utter dominance.

He scored in both Champions League games and against Finland with Norway in an international friendly. That's a goal in nine of 10 matches across all competitions.

BetMGM and DraftKings are the best sports betting apps for this wager. Those decent odds will be notably more profitable than Caesars' -180 at the low end of the market. At -140, you'll earn a $7.14 profit on a $10 bet, compared to $5.56 at Caesars.

Sunderland vs. Wolves: Tie (+205) ⭐⭐⭐

This match between relegation probables is earmarked for a draw. Sunderland is unbeaten at home, winning two while needing to settle for a share of the spoils against Aston Villa.

The Black Cats have tied two of their last four matches, while Wolves tied their previous two. Wolves have been showing signs of improvement recently, taking a point from Tottenham in London while tying Brighton at home.

Neither team can afford to lose, and unless there's a late winner, I'm confident parity will win the day. The odds for this draw range from +200 to +210, with BetMGM providing the latter. A winning $10 bet will profit $21.
