Erling Haaland prediction: anytime goal (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Haaland has scored at least one goal in seven of eight matches in all competitions and is on a four-match run in the Premier League, bagging six. He already has eight goals in the top flight, four more than anyone else. And we're still only six matches into the season.
The domineering Norwegian bagged another brace in the Champions League midweek, and he has three goals in the last three matches against Brentford. Somewhat surprisingly, he still hasn't scored at the Gtech Stadium. I expect that to change on Sunday.
Of the best sports betting sites, DraftKings and BetMGM offer the best odds (-120). Those odds imply a 54.55% probability, and a winning $10 bet will profit $8.33.
Everton vs. Crystal Palace prediction: Tie (+220) ⭐⭐⭐
Everton represents a bogey team for Crystal Palace, which hasn't beaten the Merseyside club in the last nine meetings. That run includes six defeats. However, this version of Palace is different, and that's thanks to manager Oliver Glasner, who has done a marvellous job transforming the London club since arriving in February 2024.
Palace is unbeaten in three road matches, winning two. Beating Everton at Goodison Park, though, particularly under David Moyes' stewardship, could be a task too tall. Everton hasn't lost at home in the top flight in three matches, drawing two.
Moyes' side has allowed just one goal in those three matches, occurring in a 1-1 draw with West Ham. Palace's run of not winning at Goodison Park should continue in another defensive tussle.
Most of the best sports betting apps offer odds of +220, which would yield a $22 profit on a winning $10 bet.
Newcastle vs. Nottingham Forest prediction: Newcastle & Over 1.5 goals (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ange Postecoglou hasn't deviated from his deep-seated and inflexible philosophy, which has led to a lot of goals and a mixed bag of results since taking the reins at Nottingham Forest.
They've lost three of six since his arrival, with four matches seeing at least three goals.
Still looking for his first win with his new club, Postecoglou is in tough at St James' Park. While Newcastle is looking for its first win in three Premier League matches, it hammered Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise 4-0 in the Champions League midweek.
New signing Nick Woltemade scored in that match and has two in three Premier League matches since joining the Toon Army. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, allowed three goals in a 3-2 loss to Danish side Midtjylland in Thursday's Europa League clash.
It marked the third time in six matches under Postecoglou's tutelage that Forest has allowed three goals. BetMGM's -115 odds are marginally better than the -120 offered at DraftKings. A winning $10 bet will yield an $8.70 profit.
