Who will buy the Ottawa Senators?

The interesting pick: Snoop Dogg/Neko Sparks

Snoop Dogg was a little later than Reynolds to throw his hat in the ring. But the L.A.-based rapper and entrepreneur has long been a hockey fan (usually of the Anaheim Ducks). He's now turning his business pursuits north of the border, aiming to promote hockey for kids who "look like me." He would be just the second Black majority owner in North American sports after Michael Jordan.

Snoop has expanded his rap career to acting, being chairman of Priority Records, and several cannabis-focused businesses, along with restaurants and NFTs.

Our best bet to own the Ottawa Senators: Michael Andlauer

Though he doesn't possess the name appeal of our other high-profile picks to own the Sens, businessman Michael Andlauer seems to be picking up steam, and the betting odds are much more alluring than the name.

Andlauer is the owner of the Ontario Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs, and he's a minority owner of the Montreal Canadiens. That in-road with the NHL and its board of governors could give the Toronto-based healthcare CEO the edge in what's being billed as a popularity contest between Snoop, The Weeknd, and previously Reynolds.

With nearly triple the odds of the public figures, bettors are wise to at least sprinkle on the "boring" option.
