Dallas will deploy Matt Duchene to center its second line against Colorado tonight. The 17-year veteran also skates on the Stars’ second power-play unit, logging an assist during the team’s lone outing in a 5-4 win against Winnipeg. 

With a TOI of 15:25 during his season debut, Duchene’s time on ice isn’t as abundant as other players in Dallas’ lineup. Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood will make his season debut tonight, stringing together several good performances against the Stars following his trade from San Jose last season.

Makar will have plenty of chances to record another assist against Dallas tonight. Whether it’s accomplished at even strength or on the top power-play unit, oddsmakers are valuing him to extend his point streak with a fourth assist.
