The Islanders have followed a similar path after a 2-4-0 start. They are 13-5-0 since then and won four straight games prior to a road loss against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

The Islanders have an impressive record this season at 15-9-0 but they’re outperforming their underlying metrics. The Isles have an expected goals share of 45.3% at five-on-five, which is the sixth-worst rate in the NHL. The Predators are near the middle of the pack at 50.34%.
This is a back-to-back situation for Nashville, but goaltender Kevin Lankinen (2-3-0, 2.50 GAA, .922 SV%) has been solid for the Preds. Nashville has won two straight games and three of its last four.
New York was exposed by Philadelphia last time out and Nashville has some value at +142 on the road, even on a back-to-back. The Preds beat the Islanders 5-4 at home a few weeks ago.

Nashville and New York have both trended to the Under recently. The Preds cashed the Under in five of their last eight games. The Isles follow suit with an Under result in four of their last five games, hitting the Over only in a 5-2 win against the lowly Flyers.
This should be a slower-paced game between two teams that lack offensive firepower. The Predators are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league and the Isles should be content to play a lower-scoring game.
