My NHL picks for Carolina vs. Vegas project continued production from the Hurricanes’ K’Andre Miller and Seth Jarvis, but I’m also banking on the Golden Knights’ Jack Eichel to counter with an anytime goal.

“You can’t score if you don’t shoot,” Jarvis recently told FanDuel Sports Network when asked what he’s learned so far in his NHL career. He’s clearly taking his own advice this year, firing 13 shots on net in his last two games and 22 in five outings overall.

That shooting has been rewarded with six goals - including four game-winners - so there’s little reason for Jarvis to stop now. Especially against the Golden Knights, a team Jarvis has scored four goals against in the last three meetings.

A $10 bet on Jarvis Over 2.5 shots tonight at FanDuel can net you a $9.62 profit with an implied probability of 50.98%.

⬆️  K’Andre Miller Over 0.5 points (+170) ⭐⭐

After averaging roughly 0.3 points per game in five seasons with the Rangers, Miller has already collected four in his first five games as a Hurricane. He led all Canes skaters in ice time during Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings, and he’s getting minutes on Carolina’s power play as well.

Miller is also firing the puck with regularity, attempting at least five shots in three of the Canes’ five games. With Carolina’s top playmaking defenseman, Jaccob Slavin, sidelined by injury and fellow blueliner Shayne Gostisbehere possibly out tonight as well, the opportunity should be there to continue his production. 

BetRivers was one of the first best sports betting apps to open a market on Miller Over 0.5 points, listing the blueliner as +170 to hit the scoresheet. Those odds imply just a 37.04% probability he earns a point, but a $10 bet can be rewarded with $17 profit.

🔥  Jack Eichel anytime goal scorer (+170) ⭐⭐⭐

Eichel ranks second in the NHL in assists after a four-helper night on Saturday, but he’s also been shooting the puck with abandon. The league points leader also tops the standings in shots on goal with 30, five of which have beaten opposing goaltenders.

After playing the set-up man on Saturday, I expect Eichel to be in the finishing role tonight, especially if a wrist injury to linemate Mark Stone means that Mitch Marner joins Eichel on the Knights’ top line. Eichel has enjoyed plenty of shooting opportunities in recent matchups with Carolina, recording 26 shots on goal in his last six against Carolina.
