Despite his team's ineptitude, Mark Scheifele is having one of the best goal-scoring seasons of his career. And the Jets star gets to face the league's worst defense on Wednesday. The basement-dwelling Canucks have allowed the most goals and most expected goals this season, according to MoneyPuck.
Scheifele has had the last two weeks off after he wasn't selected for Team Canada, as if I needed another reason to back him to score tonight. I placed my wager at FanDuel's +170 odds, but I'd pay up to +150 on this prop.
Cutter Gauthier (+195) vs. Oilers
Along with him scoring in three straight home games entering tonight, Cutter Gauthier and the Ducks are catching the Oilers at a great time.
The two superstars who drive Edmonton's puck possession - Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl - played heavy minutes at Milano Cortina and will likely need time to bounce back from the emotional highs and lows of that tournament.
I'm backing the Ducks to take advantage of that and for their leading scorer to be a beneficiary. The best price for a Gauthier anytime goal is +195 at FanDuel.
