The NHL begins each year with the Winter Classic, and we expect an entertaining clash between the league's two newest teams as we make our Golden Knights vs. Kraken NHL player props based on the best NHL odds.

Happy New Year, hockey fans! There's just one game on the docket for New Year's Day, and it's the Winter Classic.

The Seattle Kraken (14-14-9) play host to the Vegas Golden Knights (22-10-5) in a clash between the NHL’s two newest teams at T-Mobile Park. The Pacific Division rivals faced off on Oct. 11, with Vegas picking up a 4-1 home victory. Seattle enters this affair after winning four straight, and the team is looking to get its season back on track and stay in the playoff hunt.

Since being acquired last season, Ivan Barbashev has found a home on the Vegas Golden Knights top line. He’s meshed well with Jack Eichel, putting up 35 points in 60 regular-season games with Vegas (19 points in 37 games this year, plus 18 points in 22 playoff games).

Barbashev has been red-hot for over a month now. Since Nov. 30, he has 13 points in 14 games and was held off the scoresheet in just four contests. 

While linemates Eichel (-215) and Mark Stone (-175) are heavily favored to record a point, take advantage of the plus odds on a hot Barbashev.

Jack Eichel to score a goal (+145 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Golden Knights superstar Jack Eichel has scored his fair share of clutch goals this season. The Winter Classic seems perfect for him to come up big again.

Eichel has 16 goals this season, including one in the season-opening win against Seattle. He scored on Thursday night against the Kings for his eighth goal in his last 14 games -- all one-goal efforts.
