Kane returns to Edmonton for the first time since being dealt by the Oilers following three productive seasons in the Alberta capital. That should only provide further motivation for a veteran already hungry to prove himself after starting the season on Vancouver’s third line.

Kane may have already begun to win over the Canucks coaching staff after drawing an assist in Vancouver’s 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday, a game in which he attempted six shots and hit the net four times. He also saw time on Vancouver’s top power-play unit.

Several of the best sports betting sites were offering even money or better on Kane Over 2.5 shots, with DraftKings' +105 odds the best available. That price implies a 48.78% probability he records at least three shots on goal versus his former team, and can result in $10.50 profit on a $10 bet.

🔥Filip Chytil anytime goal scorer (+360) ⭐⭐

If Chytil’s first game of the season is any indication, +360 on him to score a goal tonight is incredible value. The 26-year-old Czech flourished in the opportunity to center Vancouver’s second line, leading the Canucks with eight shot attempts and burying two of them.

There’s also reason for optimism that Chytil’s performance Thursday wasn’t just a flash in the pan. Before suffering a concussion last year, he recorded 42 scoring chances in 15 games after being dealt to the Canucks, the most on the team during that span.
